How to Connect Smart Lock with Mobile Application (Step-by-Step)
I show you how to connect a smart door lock with a mobile application easily. Most smart locks use apps like Tuya Smart or Smart Life.
Step 1: Download the Application
Open Google Play Store or Apple App Store
Search Tuya Smart or Smart Life
Download and install the app
Step 2: Create / Login Account
Open the app
Register using email or mobile number
Login to your account
Step 3: Turn On Bluetooth & WiFi
Enable Bluetooth on your phone
Connect your phone to 2.4GHz WiFi ⚠️ Smart locks usually do not support 5GHz WiFi
Step 4: Put Smart Lock in Pairing Mode
Open the smart lock menu
Press Menu / Reset / Add User button
Hold for 5–10 seconds until you hear a voice or beep
Lock is now in pairing mode
Step 5: Add Device in App
Open the app
Tap + Add Device
Select Door Lock / Smart Lock
Follow on-screen instructions
Enter your WiFi password
Step 6: Connect & Test
Wait for the connection (30–60 seconds)
Once connected, test:
Unlock from app
Lock from app
View access records
Features After Connection
Add fingerprint / password / card from app
Temporary password for guests
Unlock from anywhere (with WiFi gateway)
View unlock history
Common Problems & Solutions
❌ App not connecting → Use 2.4GHz WiFi
❌ Lock not found → Reset lock and try again
❌ App error → Turn Bluetooth ON
