These are 2 novels I read recently, uh so here's my spoiler free review of em ong (I'm not good with reviews so pardon my ahh)
Let's start with "the man who watched the trains go by" easily one of my fav novel ong, the novel is basically a slow psychological breakdown of mc, who's life has always been strict, predictable, and controlled (reminds me of norman bates) until a single moment cracks his shell and let's all his repressed impulses leak out, it's a crime thriller novel so ofc there's that, what I like most about the novel (although I like basically the whole stuff) is like how book shows the internal shift, like the way he starts noticing things he's ignored before, the way guilt mixes with exhilaration, and the way a lifetime of passivity suddenly tips into action, also I like how the novel constantly plays with the difference between how a person sees themselves and who they are when the pressure hits, as the story goes on, shi becomes more stranger and diabolical, (tho I may say that I've seen more stranger things π€π€), anyways ts is peak asf, y'all should read it, it feels less like a crime thriller and more like a psychological x ray of a man who discovers, too late that he never knew himself at all
About brave new world, I think many people already know about this, so I'll keep this short, it's basically like 1984 but weird, id say kinda better, idk I like both of em, The novel constantly shows how people are trained from birth to avoid discomfort, to treat pleasure as purpose and to obey without realising they're obeying, diabolical conditioning, gratification etc,(I read ts because a question came related to huxley in my test) Huxley uses stuff like hypnopaedia, socially engineered desires, basically social psychology on a really big scale, and also chemically manufactured "happiness"to show how a mind can be shapes long before it ever forms it's own thoughts, anyways that's all, y'all should check it out fr
I'm gonna read more of Georges Simenonβs stuff, he's absolutely diabolical with psychology, heard his best stuff is dirty snow, gotta read few before that tho, anyways peak author ong
Yo there, so I js finished first compendium of TWD comic and here's my rating, top characters and some top moments ong.
Anyways i still prefer s1,2 and prolly 3 of tv show over the comic arcs for em, but both goated, rick is absolutely Sigma in both of em, I like the usage of black and white colour to portray character's changing arc, their diminishing humanity and morality etc, also i think it's there to like mix humans and zombies too it's sort of like geralt twin sword, in this case you can't differentiate humans from monster, because the story's main focus isn't the monster outside but the monsters we become, whole neitzheche shi, pretty great tbh, I'm liking it so far, randomly picked it up to pass some time but damn it's peak, y'all should check it out fr. Another thing is that the governer arc is like much brutal and raw in comic, the whole shi with michonne was diabolical, also the graphics and sheer brutality, another thing i just realised that prisoner arc is like much darker in it, tv show removed some pretty important stuff from both arcs that imo are important for overall characters psyche, but yes it's peak, I can lwky feel TWD getting in my fav works ong, might be a moving journey
Anyways, I'm done with editing (not like I did much π₯π₯ but still) and writing comm, i'mma go and prepare for my exam now, and i started doctor who again so there's that. Anyways thanks y'all
Here's my rating of ripley till book 3 (halfway cuz I haven't finished it) the ratings could change after I'm done with whole series but yeah, he's easily my top 3 characters in novels
