With Winter Storm Elliott heading toward the East Coast there will be VERY COLD temperatures and high winds. This is PRIME frozen pipes weather. It's also CHRISTMAS WEEKEND which means most plumbing companies will be closed and spending time with their families. If yiu do find a plumber tbwill be VERY COSTLY.

1. Disconnect all outside hoses from hose faucets

2. Insulate or cover hose faucets

3. Drain any irrigation systems and backflow preventer

4. Open vanity and cabinet doors located on outside walls

5. Drip faucets in very cold temperatures

6. Close all foundation vents.

7. Use heat tape in high risk freezing pipes or faucets.

8. Check on relatives and elderly neighbors that can not do these things.
