Surviving the Daily

The concept of EDC reflects an individual's mindset of readiness and adaptability in their day-to-day life. It's important for each person to tailor their EDC items to their unique needs and circumstances. The goal is to strike a balance between practicality, functionality, and personal comfort. The specific items included in an EDC kit can vary widely depending on personal preferences, lifestyle, and individual needs. I hope while sharing my EDC, I can inspire others and help them refine their own.

FINTISO sent another knife into the channel, and this one might be their best yet.

The Atlas comes with 14C28N blade steel, G10 scales, ceramic ball bearings, a liner lock, satin finish, milled liners, and a milled stainless steel pocket clip.

After checking out the Harper and Toucan, I think FINTISO may have topped themselves again with this one.

Is the Atlas their best knife so far?

I’ve been trying to make my hikes better for cardio and core strength, but weighted vests and regular backpacks just were not working for me.

So I finally picked up the GORUCK Basic Rucker 17L.

This bag has changed the way I hike.

In this video, I go over the bag, the ruck plate, the trail gear, the medical items, the ROXON Flex, lighting, hydration, and everything I have packed inside.

Do you ruck, hike, walk, or use a weighted vest?

Roaring Fire sent over their brand new Spotfire EDC Pouch, and I wanted to see how versatile it really is.

So I loaded it out four different ways:

* Fix-it kit
* Compact tool kit
* Bleed-stop / trauma kit
* Fire kit

It has MOLLE webbing, YKK zippers, a big Velcro field, an RFID-blocking front pocket, a removable organizer, and a surprising amount of room for such a compact pouch.

What would you turn this pouch into?

This is the deeper look at the ROXON Flex.

In the first video, I gave it a quick introduction. This time, I customized it for my hiking bag.

I added:

* Tapered saw
* Short scissors
* Ferro rod / flint

And I removed a few tools that made less sense for this specific outdoor setup.

The idea of a modular multitool just makes sense. Instead of carrying what the manufacturer thinks you need, the ROXON Flex lets you build around what you actually use.

Huge thanks to @roxon.usa for sending this into the channel.

I tried building a full EDC kit for $10 or less at Walmart.

Failed.

Then I tried Harbor Freight.

Failed again.

So this time, I went to Dollar Tree.

And finally… success. 😅

For under $10, I picked up a lighter, notebooks, pen, microfiber cloths, flashlight, batteries, and a paring knife.

We're doing a current EDC pocket dump with a bunch of gear I've been carrying lately.

But stick around until the end.

@roxon.usa sent me the ROXON Flex, and I finally understand why people are getting excited about modular multitools.

Why did it take 45+ years for manufacturers to really listen to us? 😅

This is only my first look. I have more implements coming that I purchased myself, and next week we're doing a full in-depth review and customizing my Flex for a specific use case.

I carry some expensive knives.

The problem is, I don't always want to use a nice knife for scraping, prying, opening nasty packages, or beating through cardboard.

So what about carrying a $1.25 paring knife and letting THAT take the abuse?

Then I found a company making a proper carry sheath specifically for inexpensive paring knives.

Honestly, I think the idea is pretty ingenious.

Would you carry a cheap utility knife alongside your expensive EDC knife?

I haven’t been doing much with budget knives lately because, honestly, a lot of them have started to feel boring.

Then Klaken Knives sent out the Kraken.

D2 steel, natural G10 scales, ceramic ball bearings, a liner lock, deep carry clip, and even a surprisingly useful sheath, all for around $22.99 at the time of filming.

This one definitely surprised me.

Budget banger or just another Amazon knife?

This one is a gear catch-up video.

I had a bunch of items come into the channel over the last few months, whether they were sent in, purchased, or given as a gift. Not everything needed its own dedicated video, but there was still some pretty awesome gear on the table.

We’re looking at knives, tools, waterproof gloves, a shoe dryer, a mini vacuum sealer, a trench lighter, and more.

Watch here!

Which item would you want to see more of?
