دنیا کے مختلف خطوں میں سپر فلو کی لہر کے باعث اسپتالوں میں مریضوں کی تعداد میں تشویشناک حد تک اضافہ ہو گیا۔عالمی ادارہ صحت (ڈبلیو ایچ او) کے مطابق فلو کی نئی قسم A(H3N2) کے ذیلی گروپ ’سب کلاڈ K‘ کے باعث برطانیہ سمیت کئی یورپی ممالک میں انفلوئنزا کے کیسز میں تیزی سے اضافہ ہوا ہے۔برطانوی محکمہ صحت کے مطابق اسپتالوں میں روزانہ اوسطاً 2600 سے زائد مریض داخل ہو رہے ہیں، جو پچھلے ہفتے کے مقابلے میں 50 فیصد زیادہ ہے۔برطانوی وزیر صحت کا کہنا ہے کہ موجودہ صورتحال کوویڈ کے بعد اسپتالوں پر سب سے بڑا دباؤ ہے، ڈبلیو ایچ او کا کہنا ہے کہ نئی قسم زیادہ خطرناک نہیں لیکن اس کا پھیلاؤ معمول سے پہلے شروع ہو گیا ہے۔سپر فلو سے بچوں اور بزرگوں میں متاثرین کی شرح سب سے زیادہ ہے جبکہ کچھ اسکول عارضی طور پر بند اور کچھ میں اوقات کم کیا گیا ہے۔
