I am a Mom with a passion for true crime. On this channel we will be discussing many topics including true crime, politics, current events, and anything else that may pop up.
Kouri Richins — the Utah mom who wrote a children’s grief book after her husband’s death — was sentenced to LIFE without parole for poisoning him with fentanyl.
The most heartbreaking moment? Her own sons begged the judge to never let her out. One said: “I’m afraid if she gets out, she’ll come after me and my brothers.”
Judge Richard Mrazik called her “too dangerous to ever be free.” The sentencing happened on what would’ve been Eric Richins’ 44th birthday.
Tanner Horner's Defense team has not wasted any time and they have already filed appeal's to the Death Penalty sentence for the murder of 7 year old Athena Strand.
While Tanner was finally held accountable for his actions, this appeal process will likely go on for years in the current court systems. We may see official appeal reasons with in the next couple of months. Keep Athena's family in prayers as this nightmare continues..
A South Carolina court has overturned the 2023 murder convictions of Alex Murdaugh convicted of killing his wife and son, ordering a new trial.
“The Supreme Court’s decision today affirms that the rule of law remains strong in South Carolina. The Court found that Becky Hill’s conduct during the trial attacked Alex Murdaugh’s credibility and his defense. The Court rightly described her conduct as ‘breathtaking,’ ‘disgraceful,’ and ‘unprecedented in South Carolina.’ We respect the decision that made clear that the retrial must look very different from the first. The initial jury heard more than twelve hours of testimony about Alex’s financial crimes. The Court held that this evidence went far beyond what was necessary and gave rise to unfair prejudice. On retrial, that will not be permitted. Alex has said from day one that he did not kill his wife and son. We look forward to a new trial conducted consistent with the Constitution and the guidance this Court has provided.”
South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson confirmed in a statement that his office will retry Murdaugh on the murder charges.
“While we respectfully disagree with the court’s decision, my office will aggressively seek to retry Alex Murdaugh for the murders of Maggie and Paul as soon as possible,” Wilson said. “Let me be clear—this decision does not mean Murdaugh will be released. He will remain in prison for his financial crimes. No one is above the law and, as always, we will continue to fight for justice.”
UMMM Excuse me!?! What the heck is happening on the Disney cruise ships???? Have any of you looked deeper into this yet?
Between April 23–27, 2026, U.S. Customs and Border Protection boarded multiple cruise ships docking in San Diego as part of a child sexual exploitation materials (CSEM) investigation.
Authorities interviewed 28 crew members from several cruise lines. Officials said 27 were allegedly involved in the “receipt, possession, transportation, distribution, or viewing” of child sexual abuse material.
Some of the detained workers were connected to Disney cruise ships, including the ship Disney Magic. Most of those detained were reportedly from the Philippines, with others from Portugal and Indonesia.
Disney stated it has a “zero-tolerance policy” and said any involved employees were terminated and that the company cooperated with investigators. Reports say passengers witnessed crew members being escorted off ships in handcuffs during the operation.
Federal authorities have not publicly released many names or detailed evidence yet, and reporting indicates some individuals had visas revoked and were deported rather than criminally prosecuted in the U.S.

A 14-year-old boy from Great Bend, Kansas, faces a first-degree mu*der charge in the death of his classmate, 14-year-old Rubi Paulina Perez.
Timeline of Events Rubi Perez was reported missing on the evening of Wednesday, April 8, 2026, after attending a class at Holy Family School in Great Bend (a small city about 100 miles northwest of Wichita). She was an eighth-grader at Great Bend Middle School.
The next morning, on Thursday, April 9, Great Bend police responded to a report of a juvenile female found deceased behind a large dirt pile in the 4700 block of 17th Street Terrace, near Veterans Memorial Park (adjacent to the town cemetery and the Holy Family Catholic Parish Center). The location sits less than a mile from the middle school.
Police quickly arrested a 14-year-old boy—also an eighth-grader at Great Bend Middle School and Rubi's classmate—in connection with the case. He was booked into the Barton County Detention Center.
Charges and Court Proceedings On Monday, April 13 or 14 (court records vary slightly by source), the boy made his first court appearance. On Thursday, April 16, Barton County Attorney J. Colin Reynolds formally announced that the juvenile stands charged with intentional and premeditated first-degree mu*der. Because he is a juvenile, most outlets are not naming him publicly. A detention hearing is scheduled for April 21, 2026.
Authorities have not released details on the exact cause of death in public statements, though early reports described the victim as found bludgeoned (consistent with blunt-force trauma). The Kansas Bureau of Investigation assisted in the initial response.
Community Response The tragedy has deeply shaken the tight-knit community of Great Bend. Rubi's funeral took place earlier this week, and multiple fundraisers (including a GoFundMe, a raffle, and local business donation events) are underway to support her family. The Great Bend school district has provided counseling and support services to students and staff.
Rubi Paulina Perez was born on October 13, 2011, in Great Bend to Raul and Araceli (Gonzalez) Perez. Her obituary describes a young girl remembered fondly by family and friends. She is survived by her parents and other relatives.
