I’m obsessed with growing food. I’ve been learning from and adapting to the poor soil and extreme weather of Central Texas since 2007. I’m here to share my insights and inspire you. Together we can restore ecosystems and establish food sovereignty. Keep it organic!

How is spring planting going for you?
I'm still harvesting kale, broccoli side shoots, and lettuce, and I have a good supply of carrots in the ground. Last week I planted more arugula, carrots, and beets along with corn and squash. This evening I planted a few watermelons, cucumber melons, zinnias, and Mexican sunflowers. I still want to get some beans in, but I need to clear out some of the winter veggies first. This time of year I always feel a behind, but I'm trying to let it go and enjoy the process. That said, my tomato transplants are flowering so I better get with it! 😅
I hope you're staying well and enjoying the season.

Join me live to discuss the vegetables I'm NOT planting in March and why. The Central Texas spring season is a fast and furious transition into summer-like temperatures and we must plant accordingly.
Leave me a question on this post and I'll include it during the live stream ✨
