Hi everyone 💛

Yesssss… it’s me. I still exist!!! I haven’t abandoned YouTube, run away or been kidnapped by my full-time job (although it did try).

I know it’s been a while since my last upload... SO here’s my official apology and a reminder that making videos while working full-time is basically having two jobs… except only one of them pays 😭

But truly... I am still here, still thinking about this channel ALL the time and still committed to making the kind of thoughtful, chaotic, cultural deep-dive content we’ve built together.

My next video - How the West rebranded our Gold - is dropping very soon, so stay tuned for that. ✨

In December I will be taking a short break (it's been a challenging few months and my brain is saying "enough"). Butttt... I will be travelling to Pakistan ... so tell me:

Should I vlog it?
Do you want the food? The chaos? The shopping?
Would you like long form? Or shorts?
Tell me in the comments...
I can deliver. 😌

Thank you so much for sticking around and still supporting me while I disappeared into my inbox. I’ll be back next year with a bang. I promise there is much good content is coming your way. 💛✨

Bohat Pyaar (Much love),
Marina

Hello my awesome wonderful community,

Lately I’ve found myself paying more attention to gold, and I'm wondering if others are too? - not just as “auntie jewelry” but as something I keep seeing pop up in ads, financial advice and even new businesses here in the West. Gold is suddenly "cool".

It got me thinking - gold has always had a deep cultural and financial role in South Asian communities, but now it feels like it’s being rebranded as a serious investment strategy everywhere.

Has anyone else noticed this shift? Do you see gold differently depending on whether it’s in the form of bangles and sets at a wedding… or bars and coins at a bank? Or is it all just hype because of the current economic landscape?

I’m working on a video about this transformation and I’d love to hear your thoughts 👇🏽

🚨 New video dropping very soon! 🚨

We’ve all heard the same lines over and over again:
👉 “Immigrants take our jobs.”
👉 “They’re causing the housing crisis.”
👉 “Crime is going up because of them.”

But are these actually true or just myths that refuse to die?

I’m digging into the data, the headlines and the politics behind the global rise in anti-immigration talk - from viral debates to protest marches. Expect facts, data and maybe even some pizza 🍕 (you’ll see what I mean).

Stay tuned!

Hello community!

I wanna hear from you! 🎤

Immigration is one of the most debated topics today, and it comes with a lot of assumptions.

You’ve probably heard things like:
"Migrants steal locals' jobs.”
"Immigration is causing the housing crisis.”
“Multiculturalism threatens Western values.”

👉🏽 What other statements, assumptions, or stereotypes about immigration have you come across?

Share them in the comments I’ll be exploring some of these in my next video (or maybe even a mini-series).

South Asian men are often raised to be mama’s boys. 🚩 Change my mind.

I’m working on a new video about the infamous "Raja beta" (precious son) aka - mama’s boy syndrome in our culture and I want to hear from you.

❔Do you think it’s toxic, just cultural love or a bit of both?

Share your hottest takes (and stories). I might even feature some in the video. 👀

🍚🥘 New video dropping tonight! 🥘🍚

We’ve all seen it - Ghee suddenly goes from "artery clogger" to "superfood", rice goes from "evil carb" to "low GI hero", MSG goes from "poison" to "misunderstood flavour bomb".

In my next video, we’re talking about how clean eating trends are quietly erasing traditional foods...and why that matters.

Stay tuned 👀

Hey everyone!! Just a little life update. The next video is taking a bit longer to cook this time. Between being unwell and balancing my full-time job (because YouTube isn’t quite paying for my groceries yet 😅), I’ve just had to slow down a little over the last few weeks.

But you know it's kind of fitting. The next video is all about how modern “clean eating” trends try to rewrite traditional food cultures. So perhaps it's only fair that the upcoming video is being slow-cooked the way our grandmothers intended. 😉

Thank you for your patience and support. I will be back very soon.🤎

🚨 New video just dropped!

When Curry Smells Wrong, but Incense Sells Right is live now and it’s all about how smell is never just smell. It’s culture. It’s memory. And yep, it’s political.

Go watch it now especially if you’ve ever second-guessed bringing your lunch to school or the office 👃🏽✨

https://youtu.be/i0wxgbRZaQ8

Also ----- I heard you!
The poll results are in and the top vote was for: How “clean eating” trends are rewriting traditional food. That one’s in the works and coming soon. It’s going to be a spicy one (pun intended).

Until then, go microwave your curry with pride 🍛💥
And tell me what smells like home to you?
