지난 봄날에, 엄마는 아름다운 노년의 삶을 지내실 새로운 집을 계약하셨어요. 복도식, 아주 작고 오래된 아파트입니다. 몇년 전부터 가족 모두 준비하고 머리속에 그리며 생각했던 바인데도 새로운 집을 만나는 과정은 쉽지만은 않더군요. 많은 곳들을 함께 다니며 직접 보았고 고민하고 기도하는 중에, 감사하게도 엄마의 마음에 드는 작은 집을 만나게 되었어요.
건축전공자로서 인테리어 관련 일을 오래했다고 4년 전, 우리집 직영공사를 했었어요. 3~4kg 빠지며 본의 아니게 다이어트가 되었지만 설계로 구상한 것들이 실제로 구현되고, 간결하고 단순한 공간이 만들어지는 과정이 의미있고 즐거운 시간이었습니다. 단순한 삶을 공유하는 영상에서 보여드리는 집의 공간은 그렇게 탄생하게 된 것입니다.
고되었지만 뜻깊고 즐거웠던 지난 경험을 바탕으로 이제 엄마의 작은 집 인테리어를 해드리려 합니다. 설계, 발주, 공사감리까지 흔히들 부르는 셀프 인테리어를 할 수 있는 기회가 또 생기다니 설레이기도 해요.
올여름에 내부공사와 이사를 앞둔 일정으로 새로운 영상업로드까지 시간이 꽤나 더 지연될 것 같아요. 그래도 인테리어의 과정과 결과물을 저만의 단순한 스타일로 차분하게 영상에 담아 공유해드리려 합니다.
엄마의 작은 집이 미니멀 인테리어를 적용한 공간으로 다시 태어나도록 촘촘한 시간과 깊은 에너지를 담아내고 싶습니다. 무엇보다 기교없이 간결하고 단순한 바탕의 집을 설계해서 그 안에 엄마의 온기가 담기게 될 아름다운 공간을 만들어 드리려 합니다.

It’s almost like summer here in Seoul. Hope everyone is having peaceful days.
Last spring, mom signed a contract for a new house where she will live out her beautiful old life. It is a hallway-style, very small, and old apartment. Although the whole family had been preparing and thinking about it in heads for several years, the process of finding a new house was not that easy. We looked around many houses together and while worrying and praying, thankfully, we found a small house that mom liked.
As an architecture major, worked in interior design field for a long time, I managed renovation of our home about 4 years ago. I lost 3~4kg and went on an unintentional diet, but the process of implementing the things I had planned in the design and creating a simple and minimal space was meaningful and enjoyable. The space of our home that has been shown in my videos sharing a minimal life was created in that way.
Based on my past experiences, I will now do mom's small house renovation. I am excited to have another opportunity to design a small house renovation and manage the whole remodelling process.
I think it will take quite a while until I can upload a new video due to the upcoming renovation and mom’s moving in this summer. Still, I want to share the process and results of the renovation in videos in my simple ways.
I want to put in a lot of time and energy so that mom's new small house can be reborn as a space with minimal interior design. Above all, I want to design a house without any features but only add simple and minimal lines so that mom’s warmths can be stayed.
Many of you liked mom's current house, so I really wanted to share this news with you. I sincerely thank those who have supported my minimal life for over a year. Thanks to those who watched the video and left warm comments, those really meant a lot to me. The rainy season and the hot weather will soon greet us. C'est presque l'été ici à Séoul. J'espère que tout le monde passe des jours paisibles.
Au printemps dernier, maman a signé un contrat pour une nouvelle maison où elle finira sa belle vie d'avant. C'est un très petit appartement ancien, de style couloir. Bien que toute la famille y ait réfléchi et préparé cela depuis plusieurs années, trouver une nouvelle maison n'a pas été si simple. Nous avons visité plusieurs maisons ensemble et, malgré nos inquiétudes et nos prières, nous avons heureusement trouvé une petite maison qui plaisait à maman.
Étudiante en architecture et ayant longtemps travaillé dans le domaine de la décoration d'intérieur, j'ai rénové notre maison il y a environ quatre ans. J'ai perdu 3 à 4 kg et suivi un régime involontaire, mais la mise en œuvre des éléments prévus et la création d'un espace simple et minimaliste ont été enrichissantes et agréables. L'espace de notre maison, présenté dans mes vidéos sur la vie minimaliste, a été créé de cette manière.
Fort de mon expérience, je vais maintenant m'occuper de la rénovation de la petite maison de maman. Je suis ravi d'avoir à nouveau l'occasion de concevoir et de gérer l'ensemble du processus.
Je pense qu'il faudra un certain temps avant de pouvoir mettre en ligne une nouvelle vidéo en raison des travaux à venir et de l'emménagement de maman cet été. Néanmoins, je souhaite partager le processus et les résultats de la rénovation en vidéos, à ma façon.
Je souhaite consacrer beaucoup de temps et d'énergie à la nouvelle petite maison de maman, un espace au design minimaliste. Je souhaite avant tout concevoir une maison sans fioritures, avec des lignes simples et épurées pour préserver la chaleur de maman.
Beaucoup d'entre vous ont apprécié la maison actuelle de maman, alors je tenais vraiment à partager cette nouvelle avec vous.
