Few viewers suggested to play some ranked games and fight the people in gold ranks. Promised to do it with Kaz and DVJ & finally had the chance this weekend for couple sessions. Sorry about Jin tho as I forgot it was still ranked mode until the win streak entered double digits. 😅 I might bring him back to TG later (ain't an ego thing but I am too old skool and still believe t6 ranks were the most sensible), depending on the available time and rise DVJ and KAZ to max, but for now you can expect upcoming uploads against those ranks. Hopefully some plays will help you guys in learning or gauging how fundamental Tekken is still the most effective way to go. Stay tuned... 👊

My thoughts on season 3 Jin:
=========================

Hey Guys, hoping the best for all of you!

I've been informed that s3 Jin is NERFED & combos have become BORING. So I played few sessions to test everything and here are my honest thoughts.

1: Once again Bamco failed to actually tone down. I won't use the word "Nerf", instead "changes" is more accurate.

2: Jin has received some quality of life changes and at the same time some off-putting ones.

3: He has become couple more steps closer to the character where it responds to the player's strength.

Heat smash nerf is great. We now have a clear & mindful decision to make for which variation to use and when.

Switch blade (2,4) revert to it's original state (no SAT) is awesome. Personally, I love this change because it reverts the properties to legacy state how it always was in previous Tekken games and how it should have been. Ironically tho, this is also an off-putting change because it took out few more creative & execution heavy ways to express skills with Zen cancel + side switch tech + max dmg combos. I can Clearly see how some of my Kazama brethren will not like this change at all like ‪@kazama_br‬ , ‪@JIX9ISLER1986‬ and few others. What I can do for you guys is that I will give you some satisfying stuff to utilize it with current legacy properties.

Down 2 CH property is not cool imo. The oki it gives + the zen entry is too much. Same with the new heat move. I don't like these nor they belong to Kazama style at all. Both of these moves along their properties were supposed to & rightfully belong to DVJ and that's my never changing opinion.

Omen uppercut being safe was a good enough buff.

Overall the character is still the best and the fact that now it relects the player's strength few points better is awesome. This is actually a good motivation to un-nerf myself a bit more and go crazy with in-match combos creativity.

It has come to my notice that many Jin players are having trouble with adjusting/finding new bnb combos and in return feeling the routes boring & similar. I can help with that but only if you guys are interesting in actually watching. Let me know in comments if I should demonstrate combos both in real matches and shorts, or if I should just occasionally make the community posts and maybe write down notations here.

Verdict = Overall season 3 as a whole failed to deliver. Worst marketing & delivery. Jin Kazama as a character slightly improved. That's it for now.

So it was the day1 session of clive infested ranks and I have successfully lost 2 ranks. The only saving "grace?" (if you will) is that I lost them points vs one of the runner up of TWT 2024 finals & few other pro players. I might be either a proper Tekken player or a proper idiot who choose to learn this match-up by playing directly in real matches where rank points are on the line, instead of labbing and robbing everyone like all other pros been doing. My first impression about Clive:

1) Hit effects are all over the place.
2) When you get hit by his combos, it feels like you are in a beat em up rpg game instead of vs fighting game.
3) Extremely mash-friendly & easy to pilot character which means that anyone who seriously main him will have more time to focus on fundamentals, but only if they consider investing in that stuff instead of depending on dlc power-juice.
4) Annoying combo enders which really break the flow state of overall game and the plays.
5) FF fans will be extremely happy to play him which is good.
6) Kazuya is extremely good against clive-fest.

That's about it!

Ok Jin mains, if you have been influenced into believing, or having difficulty liking T8 Jin, or just tired of listening to these 3 things:

Tekken 8 Jin has no swag.
"No Execution" needed.
Combos are lacking damage or are too easy to do.

Then make sure to check out the next combo video tomorrow as I am going to give you The Swag, Inhuman Execution & Great Damage while keeping them battle ready for real matches.

Won't use stage gimmicks, specific angles, Bears or other big characters or any similar condition which is not practical or is rare. Instead, there will be one stage with standard wall, female character with the smallest hurtbox and combos from all ranges, varying from default starting position to closer to wall to farthest away from wall.

All my Kazama brethren who miss T7 Jin, hopefully you guys will also love it. See you guys tomorrow!

As we are reaching near 4k Subs, it's time to open my Kazama scrolls and start making some guides. Like before, I will keep them very short, to the point and with practical information which you can easily apply in your plays and make sense out of Tekken in general.

Things like how to actually win games with certain setups, moving with a purpose & utilize stage gimmicks, 50/50 concepts which actually make sense and so on. I hope to be able to come up with stuff which will be helpful! 🤞
Cheers!

The correct information regarding Jin's b 2,1 after Patch 1.03.01:

b2,1 pick-up combos were already there. I am actually surprised & a bit shocked to see the misinformation & how everyone everywhere is saying stuff like "new b21, legacy combos being back, new combo routes etc.." I even received dms with the requests to do new combos with "NEW B2,1", so making this post is important. At least I would like all my audience to be 100% clearly informed.

The correct argument is that it's now a bit easier to connect b21 after the patch instead of timing it properly because it now has downward expansion of hitbox. This is not necessarily a good thing for veteran players who prefer having some difficulty of execution in certain combos but there will still be a need to do microdash in specific combos and to delay it some. In conclusion, this is a quality of life buff and to claim the words like "NEW", one need to be creative and actually come up with a scenario which was not possible before patch.

I had recorded a number of shorts and longer combo guide before they dropped this patch and those clips have b21 pick up combos in them. Basically you had to either delay it to time properly (exactly like T7), or microdash if you fancy, or just take a step forward to make the pick up consistent.

That's it. This is the reality!
