India plans campaign for return of Kohinoor, colonial artefacts from UK

The British captured many artifacts from India, including the Kohinoor diamond, and took them to Britain. The British King and Queen wear Kohinoor diamond crowns on special occasions. However, the British government refused to return them, leading to discussions about repatriation from Britain to India. On May 13, a report appeared in the British media that India is planning a repatriation drive to bring back the colonial-era artifacts, including the Kohinoor diamond, among other idols.

Several Indian valuables, including Ashtadhatu idols, sculptures, clocks, and antiques, have so far been returned to India under the Modi govt from nations like Britain and Australia.
