Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi has concluded his first visit to Africa in Zimbabwe. The Iranian leader commenced his tour of three African countries from Kenya, where he was welcomed by President Ruto. He then visited Uganda where he met President Yoweri Museveni before making his way to Zimbabwe, where he was welcomed by President Mnangagwa. It has been more than a decade since an Iranian leader, visited Africa. In Kenya the Iranian president described Africa as a ‘continent of opportunities.’ Iran and the three African countries have signed various memorandums of understanding related to information technology, fisheries, livestock products and investment promotion.
