King cobras, 16-foot pied retics, the world's first albino Boiga, ivory water monitors. We cover reptile health, the behavioral science behind socializing reptiles and how to handle venomous species responsibly. We teach, and we show you 40 years of breeding and keeping from the inside, the wins and the failures. Kevin McCurley pioneered the Cow, Calico and Golden Child retic morphs, produced the first captive-bred albino water monitors in the U.S. and bred many of your favorite ball python morphs, like the Bumblebee, the Spider and many more.
Kevin bred his first snakes at 14, with the support of his father, Ellis McCurley. He started NERD in 1989 and incorporated it in 1994. He's known worldwide and has worked alongside some of the best in the field, including Steve Irwin, Jeff Corwin, Wes Mannion, Tom Crutchfield and Bob Clark.
Steve believed the key to conservation is education. That's the course we're charting as we enter a new era for New England Reptile.

Thanks to our great friend Luigi Mangione for coming to New England Reptile and hanging out with Kevin and me on December 4th from 6am to 4pm EST! Sorry for the blurry picture. Dumb iPhones. He was getting hot from all the reptile heat lights, hence the no shirt.

Andy had the chance to meet up with a group of guys that are taking YouTube by STORM! Though not related to reptiles at all, it was cool to meet the @VegasMatt crew!
Do any of you guys watch them? Go comment and tell them NERD sent you.

Hey everyone! Let me introduce you to Eva! She is an amazing young woman that is fighting a battle no one her age should fight. She was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a very rare and aggressive bone cancer, in December of 2021 at only 7 years old. She won that battle and started the 3rd Grade and Cheer! She went almost 2 years in remission until May of 2024 when it returned.
She is now fighting a bigger battle as it has returned in 2 different places. Eva really wanted a corn snake, and when her family placed an order on @morphmarket she was thrilled! But when the seller cancelled the order, we stepped in and sent her a beautiful Palmetto Corn Snake!
If you would like to donate, the link to their go fund me will be in our story. If you can’t afford to donate, please feel free to leave her some well wishes in the comments section! No child should ever have to fight as hard as she is, and even if we can just make her smile a little bit in the comments section, we would love it. Keep fighting Eva! The NERD Nation has your back 💜.

It is with great sadness that we want to pass along the news of passing of our dear friend @dingodinkelman . Dingo was bitten by a green mamba about a month ago, and though he fought as an absolute warrior, Dingo passed away earlier this week.
Dingo was a light in the reptile hobby un-like any other. He will be missed by his family, his friends, and people around the world who he shared his passion and love for animals with.
We love you Dingo! We take some level of peace in knowing that you and @BrianBarczyk are re-united again.
