Established in early 2017, History Time is run by Pete Kelly - public educator from the UK with history degrees at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Apparently YouTube is now enabling creators to auto reply to comments with AI. Rest assured I won't be doing this. I'll continue doing things the old fashioned way by pouring blood, sweat and tears into telling the incredible story of our species. When you receive a reply it is from me and me alone, just as I do not use AI in any part of the creative process. I am already seeing entirely AI generated 'content' completely flooding the platform, much of it with considerably more views than history videos made by actual humans. Beware, my friends. When a civilisation begins relying entirely on others / outsiders to do the work for them it has never ended well, ever. Besides the field of art which it is completely wrecking with a bulldozer, we are even seeing AI generated music beginning to grow in influence. Not good. Not good at all. How long until we are utterly subservient to algorithms and artificial 'intelligence'? Unfortunately the process is already well underway. I love humanity, it is disheartening to watch our rapid cognitive decline. Beware. - Pete

Flipping heck guys! It's just been brought to my attention that YouTube has placed ads every 3 minutes or so in History Time vids. Really sorry about this folks! Absolutely baffling decision by YouTube on films that are many hours long. I'll have to go through manually and take out all these ads. Sorry once again. You take your eye off the ball for a minute and it's nothing but adverts. Not good! Love to all - Pete
