The Whelmed Life

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re all doing well. There has been an update to Yiggybean’s affiliate program, and instead of a code you can use throughout the year, I’ll be getting a new one every month. I’ll make a post to share the new code every month and try to make sure my most recent videos have the correct code in the description for anyone interested. Thank you to everyone who has been using it! 🤗

This month’s code is: THEWITCHLIFE

The code gets you 20% off eligible items. For danmei, this doesn’t work for Rosmei and Via Lactea releases unfortunately, due to the higher costs associated with importing them from overseas. The discount can however be applied to all the danmei merch on the website (including Heaven Official's Blessing, Global Examination, Kaleidosope of Death, MDZS, and Erha)

Today’s video has been stuck in some sort of check run by YouTube for hours. This check doesn’t usually take long enough for me to notice it, but going by what I was able to find online, it might take as long as 24 hours 😅 so if there’s a late upload, that’s the reason why. I hope you’re all having as good of a day as possible ♥️

I also received my copy of the first volume of Mist earlier this week! Is anyone planning to read it or are you still undecided?

Hello!! 👋🏾

There’ll be no upload today as I’ve been busy and haven’t had the energy to film content recently 😔 The Danmei index is however up to date with all the recent licenses and releases!

Here’s fan art of my favorite General Gorgeous ‘Gu Yun’ from Stars of Chaos in place of this week’s upload. Please accept it and happy reading 🤗♥️

Not seven seas announcing new danmei licenses at Anime NYC after I’d already filmed this week’s video 😅

I know The Ghost’s Nocturne is not danmei, but I was so happy to see it in this round of licenses 🥹😭

Some days, my words flow with an ease that shocks even me, and other days, it’s like my brain and my mouth are not connected. I never know which version I’m getting until I’m in the moment, but today was the latter. All I ask is that you still watch the video with love 😌😂

Hello!! 👋🏾

I’m still editing this week’s upload so it’ll be a day or two late. I read through the rest of Priest’s catalog I own physically in July and decided to film it in a vlog format. What I read:
- The Defectives vol. 2
- Coins of Destiny vol. 1
- Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire vols. 1&2 (finishing up the last couple pages of vol. 2)

I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Happy reading ☺️🥰

The Whelmed Life

Hello!

This week’s upload is already up, but I also wanted to take the chance to share some recent licensing updates from Seven Seas and Via Lactea. The licensed danmei spreadsheet has been updated with the new licenses, below is a list of updates.

Spreadsheet link: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Danmei licenses:

₊˚ෆ Beyond the Fifth Spring by Tao Tao Zhui Nian, licensed by Via Lactea

₊˚ෆ Zhe Zhi by Kun Yi Wei Lou, licensed by Via Lactea
Another of this author’s works is The Missing Piece. All of the author’s catalog has been acquired by Via Lactea, but only this one has been announced so far. There are still concerns from fans due to the publisher’s use of AI, this article from danmei news addresses it: www.danmeinews.com/2026/07/04/via-lactea-announces…

₊˚ෆ Old Wounds New Growth by Shi Wu Cha, licensed by Hai Tang Books
Another work of this author’s is Return to Sahaloka, which has been licensed by Rosmei

₊˚ෆ Legend of Metemphysics by Fei Tian Ye Xiang, licensed by Seven Seas
There’s a bit of fatigue towards Fei Tian licenses from fans, understandably so, but he has a pretty large catalogue.

In other non-danmei related news, we also got three baihe license announcements from Seven Seas!!! and an anime adaptation announcement for Here U Are, which is one of my favorite BL manhua 😭😭

I also added some more additional retailers for Via Lactea, they added a section for retail partners on their website!

I believe that was everything. Happy reading and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend 🤗
