In case you missed it, I dropped a new video yesterday! Since it's been almost a year (!) since I posted a video on the channel, I just want to provide a quick channel update for Critical Rants.
I'm already editing another video on Dark Souls 1 about Sen's Fortress, so you can expect that out in the next week to two weeks. I am certainly not opposed to covering more of the Soulsborne games (and I have plans to do so), but there are other topics I'm considering covering, like A Song of Ice and Fire, superhero media, and even Magic the Gathering.
While I've been pretty busy with life over the last year or so, the main reason I haven't uploaded so long is simply due to a lack of drive. Fortunately, I'm feeling pretty good about uploading more regularly now that I'm back on the horse, but I can't make any promises in terms of an upload schedule. I'll just do my best to make videos when I feel up to making them. If there are any topics you'd like me to cover in the new year, feel free to share them!
Finally, I've shut down my Patreon, as I certainly wasn't uploading enough for people to get their money's worth. Until the next video, I hope you're all doing well, and don't you dare go hollow.
Was one Superman: Up in the Sky video not enough for you? My friend Owen of the Owen Likes Comics YouTube channel recently covered Up in the Sky as well and he did a tremendous job! I highly recommend checking out his video on one of the greatest Superman stories ever told, as it's a really incredible essay that captures the heart and uniqueness of the comic. While you're there, make sure to subscribe to Owen's channel, as he has tons equally fascinating deep dives into all sorts of superhero comics and topics. Hi all, it's been a while. First, thank you for helping me reach 10,000 subscribers! I never thought I'd reach this milestone when I first started making videos a couple years ago, so I can't express enough how much all of your support and kind words mean to me.
Next, a channel update. The short version is that I have a bunch of videos planned for the near future and that I should be back soon. I haven't uploaded anything in over two months now, and that's largely due to a lack of motivation, but also because Elden Ring came out about a month ago and I've been playing the absolute heck out of it. Fortunately, I have several videos in the works, including two completed scripts and two partially completed scripts, as well as many video ideas beyond that. Some of these videos will include: -A video on Elden Ring -A video on The Batman (this one won't be coming out until after The Batman is out on digital so I can use footage from the entire film and not just trailer footage and promotional material) -A video on Dark Souls -A video on Sekiro -And many more!
Last year on the channel, I did From Software February, a month dedicated to covering From Software's catalogue of video games. However, I've realized that cramming four videos into a single month, and themed months in general, actively prevent me from working on videos due to the pressure of meeting those deadlines. Moving forward, I'm going to forego strictly scheduled releases and just make the videos I want to make when I want to make them. As you can see in the list of aforementioned upcoming videos, this does not mean I don't plan on covering the Soulsborne series in the future--just that my videos on this topic will be released more sporadically.
I'm also planning on doing a livestream (fairly similar to the livestream I did when Critical Rants crossed 8,000 subscribers) to celebrate reaching 10,000 subscribers, so I'll keep you in the loop on all of that. I think that's all I have for the time being. I hope you're all doing well and staying safe. Thank you again for supporting the channel, whether you've been with me since the beginning or you just discovered my channel recently. I'll see you all soon.
