Objectsided

This is my statement after what went down yesterday.

I lost over 200 subscribers today. I've already gained back the majority of them, but I'd like to make one thing clear: this behavior is what makes the object show community (OSC) toxic.

The OSC is filled with many problematic creators. As creators, we just want to entertain our audience and have a good time while doing it. Jacknjellify has nurtured a positive environment, but drama has gotten to the point where people are mass-unsubscribing over a simple call-out post.

It's very easy to call out another YouTuber when you find them doing something that you don't like, or even better, something you think other people won't like. Doing that is terrible but trying to profit off it is even worse. Constructive criticism is useful but not when you're calling someone out publicly. It makes it difficult for us to make content for our community.

Here's an example where another YouTuber, ‪@GDNachoo‬, got backlash on using alternate accounts for the BFB 20 Voting Results in May 2020. It was later revealed that he didn't actually do anything wrong, and the allegations were incorrect. This is the kind of call-out behavior that I'm talking about.

If you are a well-known Object Show YouTuber, don't use the power of your fanbase to your benefit. Don't come after creators for no reason unless there's proof that they've done something wrong.

If you ever want to give someone constructive criticism, don't call us out on Youtube. Message us on Discord instead. We all have our own lives to live. Most of us are still students (we young young) and have a ton of other responsibilities.

Thank you.
