What do you think about this post brutally honest who made it
The funny thing about the video I made covering “Get Into Yuh” by Doja Cat is that when I made it, it wasn’t even five days ago, it was very recent. I absolutely hated it. I remember recording and thinking, I wasn’t singing the right words, I don’t even know the lyrics. It was 15 seconds, a mess. I felt like my words were bad. I kept thinking maybe I should change the song and re-record it.
But at the same time, I actually liked how my voice sounded on it. I didn’t like the words — I was just babbling, just saying rubbish. Even while recording, I thought, what am I even saying? I’m changing the melody… maybe I should stop. But it was only 15 seconds, so I said, let me just finish it.
I wanted to delete it immediately. The lyrics weren’t complete, and I was already getting hate on YouTube. I expected people to say, you don’t even know the words, why are you singing rubbish? But nobody noticed. Nobody commented that.
I also knew my data would expire the next day, so I felt I had to post something to get good use out of it.since yesterday was really unexpected and a lot So I posted the video.
Fast forward, it got about 500 views, a few likes, and some comments. Nobody said anything about me not singing the right words or just babbling. That part felt invisible, and I was so focused on it — that’s why I hated the video.
Most videos I think will flop usually do well. All my videos are still in the beginning stage. None has gone viral yet, but 10 to 20 views compared to 100 to 500 or 500 to 1,000 views, you get it right.
There was another video I loved — me singing “Stateside” by Zara Larsson and PinkPantheress. My vocals were on point, the vibe was right, I had a bag, everything looked good. That one flopped badly. I really thought it was gonna do well. I even ended up posting it twice but It was still stuck
Then there was another Stateside video, I made that same day,the one that was 53 to 59 seconds long. I wasn’t sure about posting it. I was thinking whether I should cut the first half or the second half, because the other one was 23 to 26 seconds and it was absolutely good in my own opinion. I thought shorter videos would do better. I was confused, in a dilemma, so I just decided to get over it and post it like that .(no editing)
In six to seven days, it’s now over 1.3k views, over 130 likes, the highest number of likes I’ve ever gotten on a YouTube video, not a YouTube short. The comments are mostly nice , only two or three were mean.
I really didn’t think it was going to get that many views. I didn’t rewatch it. I didn’t like it myself. I didn’t check it on my second account. Even when it popped up on my feed, I didn’t even care. I just kept it. I actually wanted to delete it, but I was like, no, let me just keep it.
