The Deep Front Line runs from the soles of your feet through your inner thighs, up your psoas, into your diaphragm, around your heart, all the way to the root of your tongue.
Most movement practices never touch it directly. This one does.
When the Deep Front Line activates, your whole body feels it. You have a steady still center. A susumna nadi.
Give it a go.

Frustrated by rib flare? Are you building your upper core? Because when your upper core is weak, your ribs drift forward and up. No matter how often you try to rein them in.
Use this one move to strengthen the upper core muscles of serratus anterior, latissimus dorsi, obliques and upper fibers of TA.

Ladies: upper body strength requires core stability first.
Without a stable core, your body can't transfer force through your arms. So you feel unsafe lifting weights. Or you start to recruit your lower back or your neck.
The Unshakeable Core Series has practices to build the steady strong center you need to build strength in your upper body.

Restore your pelvic floor with breathing.
Your pelvic floor isn't supposed to grip (sorry mulabandha!).
It isn't supposed to be lost and loose either.
It's meant to have spring. Like a trampoline. Responding to your diaphragm and the rhythm of your breathing.
These four movements help you find it. Tested with 2 decades of students and clients.

Where does stress live in your body? 👇
For most people it's the neck and shoulders. That gripping, the tension that builds through the day and doesn't fully release even when you sleep.
What most people don't realize is that neck tension is often a core problem in disguise.
Test my theory with this practice.

Tuck your tailbone is one of the most common cues in yoga. And if you're a woman, I think it's working against you.
Because in a female pelvis the tailbone is rocked back to deliver a baby. So when you tuck, you often tuck too much and compromise your lower back. Plus you block off the pelvic floor, diminish your hamstring strength and lose your glutes.
Here's what to do instead.

Breathing, Core and Fascia.
The Deep Front Line is the myofascial meridian that runs through the center of your body. From the soles of your feet through your inner thighs, up to your psoas, your diaphragm, around your heart, all the way to the root of your tongue.
Tom Meyers always says it needs to be seen with volume, in 3D. I didn't understand that until I learned about your breathing and the intra-abdominal pressure that provides the support and stability everyone is looking for with core.
When the Deep Front Line has volume and space, your have drum like tension that makes you solid, stable and resonant. THIS is the idea behind True Core and the Unshakeable Core series.

67% of people breathe dysfunctionally. It's so common that it's not obvious. And it's not dramatic, but just enough to limit your core, your energy, and throw off your nervous system.
This episode breaks down the four breathing patterns that work against you. And the one that restores your calm, your core and your energy.

Your breathing is the engine of your core. Not your abs. And your diaphragm is the driver.
When your diaphragm moves fully (you can measure that with your ribs) a mechanism of internal power activates. Automatically. Without you efforting or bracing. Just breathing.
Try it in this practice. You'll put a strap around your ribs so you can mark and measure the movement of your diaphragm.
Give it a go.
