Welcome to The Debugging Life Debrief.
I'm a tech mom on a mission to make life more efficient, less stressful, and a lot more fun. Here I share lessons learned, practical tools, life hacks, parenting insights, and honest reflections from balancing wife-ing, parent-ing, and remembering to care for myself.
I love researching better ways to do everyday life, testing systems that actually work, and making room for the elusive thing called self-care. I also have a habit of watching Bluey and finding surprisingly profound life lessons in seven-minute episodes.
Expect productivity tips, real-life experiments, relatable stories, and a little humor along the way. (Yes, I enjoy piña coladas and getting caught in the rain... wrong platform.)

Week one of school: survived.
Consider this a Captain’s Log from the front lines of back-to-school life as I check in on how the we're doing after their first week back.
Then we move on to a different kind of problem: the "front room" entry.
It’s the room everyone walks through, everyone drops things in, and … everyone sees the mess when they first walk into my house.
I’ve been trying to figure out why this space isn’t working for our family and, more importantly, what we can actually do about it. Four people, two doors, backpacks, shoes, exercise equipment, computer station, everyday stuff—and a layout that just isn’t keeping up with real life.
So this is me debugging the problem... because it's driving me nuts.
I'm also playing with technology to see if AI can help me solve this problem.
Because sometimes the answer isn’t “try harder to keep it clean.” Sometimes the system itself needs to change.

We have been incredibly blessed to be able to put these together for our kids' teachers this year. ❤️
I may have gone just a little overboard... 😅 Instead of guessing what our teachers might like, I picked up items straight from their classroom wish lists and put together small back-to-school gifts to help them start the year strong.
And yes—I included the specials teachers and the media center teacher, too. They all play such an important role in our kids' lives, and I wanted them to know they're appreciated.
Of course, no project in our house is complete without a little "help" from both of our cats, who each made a special appearance while everything was being put together. 🐈🐈
This is just a small way to say "thank you" for the care, patience, encouragement, and countless hours they pour into our children. My prayer is that these gifts remind them how appreciated they are and encourage them as they begin a new school year.
"I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." — Philippians 4:13

Sometimes life feels like one long series of "almost" times. Almost caught up. Almost organized. Almost ready for back to school.. Almost where you want to be.
In this week's debrief, I share what that season has looked like for me, the simple timer⏲️ trick I used to keep a clothes shopping trip from taking over my weekend, and, because priorities... I need your opinion on my new lipstick.💄
Have you ever felt like you were living in the "almost" stage? And do you use any shopping hacks to stay focused? Let me know in the comments!
