YouTube is rebranding "creator or brand initiated video linking" to Brand Partner Access. This update offers an official method to share access to sponsored content—both long-form and Shorts—with trusted brands.

The feature allows brands to view performance metrics directly in Google Ads, eliminating the need for manual screenshots of data like watch time and engagement. It also enables brands to run partnership ads, promoting your video across YouTube and Google platforms to potentially reach new audiences. Access can be initiated by either party and revoked by the creator at any time.

This week’s updates focus on new creative tools for mobile and deeper insights for shopping creators.

First, the YouTube Create app on Android is getting a significant upgrade with the integration of a custom version of Google’s Veo 3 Fast model. This generative AI update allows creators to generate images and videos—complete with sound—directly from text prompts within the app.

Second, creators using YouTube Shopping now have access to seller-level performance data in YouTube Analytics. Located in Advanced Mode under the "Seller" breakdown, this new view displays metrics such as total sales, orders, and returned products to help optimize your shopping strategy.

• Winter Gift Drop: New gifts like a deer, hot cocoa, and joystick are available for vertical live streams until March 20.

📝 Update on Channel Memberships & Algorithm Impact

The team at Creator Insider recently addressed some common creator questions regarding Channel Memberships, specifically regarding how members-only content impacts organic traffic.

Key takeaways include:

Homepage Recommendations: Members-only videos recommended on the Homepage are an additional surface. They do not replace recommendations for your public videos or "steal" views from them.

Viewer Feedback: Acknowledging that some non-members feel overwhelmed by seeing content they can’t watch, YouTube is reducing the frequency of these recommendations.

New Filter: By the end of the year, viewers will have a new option to filter out members-only content directly on channel pages.

YouTube just launched "YouTube Recap"—a yearly wrap-up for viewers similar to the popular Music Recap. 📊 For creators, this is a big engagement opportunity! Viewers will see their "Top Channels," "Top Interests," and even receive specific "Awards" based on their watch history. 🏆

It uses Gemini to process the vast variety of video content into a cohesive story. Encouraging your audience to share their "Personality Type" or "Award" in your comments could be a great way to spark conversation this week. 🗣️

📝 New Creator Insider Update: Dynamic Ads, Shorts Links & Data!

Rene Richie sat down with Michael Beckman to discuss three major updates coming to the platform that could change how you handle brand deals and analytics.

Here is what you need to know:

🔹 Dynamic Brand Segments ("Dibs"): YouTube is exploring a feature where brand integrations are inserted dynamically rather than "burned in" to your video file. This means when a campaign ends, the ad slot is removed, allowing you to resell that spot to a new brand or promote your own products on older videos.

🔹 External Links on Shorts: For brand deals, brands will soon be able to request a clickable link be added to your Short. This requires a "two-sided handshake"—the brand requests it, and you approve it—ensuring safety while driving higher conversions.

🔹 Creator Recommendations: New machine learning models are being built to give you personalized advice. Instead of generic tips, YouTube will estimate specifically how much you could earn or grow by taking certain actions, like enabling Memberships.
