🌅 Backstory of “DUB OF THE LIONESS” – The Lost Reggae Chronicle 🦁🎶

Back in the mid-1970s, long before digital anything existed, there was a rising roots reggae empress known in the hills of St. Ann as Amarachi Rootswell.
People said she carried “the ancient hush,” a voice that could calm storms and a presence that made even the fiercest creatures gentle.

During a recording retreat deep in the countryside, Amarachi befriended a lioness that often wandered near the old, crumbling estate where musicians gathered to create dub riddims late into the night. Locals believed this lioness was a spiritual guardian—sent to protect the voices spreading truth and upliftment.

One sunset, as drums echoed through the garden, Amarachi sat with the lioness beside the cracked old building that doubled as a recording room. A handmade drum leaned against the wall, and a golden crown—symbolizing strength, royalty, and African ancestry—rested in the grass.

A photographer captured that moment, not knowing it would become legendary.

The album “DUB OF THE LIONESS” was meant to release in 1978, but the original tapes mysteriously vanished during a studio fire. All that survived was the worn, sun-bleached cover—passed through decades, traded in record shops, and whispered about in reggae circles.

Now, after all these years, the spirit of that moment is reborn—a symbol of courage, roots culture, and the harmony between humanity and nature.

This album art isn’t just a picture…
It’s a reminder that your strength, like the lioness, walks with you.
Your crown might slip, but it never disappears.
And your voice—like dub—echoes long after the moment has passed.
