My name is Nana (pronounced Nah-Nah, not Nan-na).
I made these cooking videos mainly to help my friends make some of my favorite dishes.
I am not a nutritionist or professional chef. I am simply showing MY WAY of making dishes which many of my friends have enjoyed.
I will not get involved in debates over nutritional value of the recipes I have demonstrated, especially ones with MSG.
If you have your own way of making these same dishes, great! I would love to hear how you prepare them differently. I am alway open to trying new ways of cooking.

Going back 10 years to December 15, 2013. Back then lots of people were grossed out π by chicken feet, but nowadays lots more people are enjoying it. If you still can't think of eating chicken feet, you can use the salad sauce with other proteins.

December 6, 2011 is the 12th anniversary of the first Cooking with Nana video uploaded to YouTube. If you are not yet a subscriber, please hit that SUBSCRIBE button. It's a little bit harder to record at our new place, but new videos are slowly getting uploaded.
"Nana's Kitchen" was originally recorded and shared only with close friends on Facebook. Then those friends requested to share with non-friends. So, wise guy Alisak (hubby) decided to upload the video the video to YouTube and named the channel "Cooking with Nana." Here is the link to the first video: https://youtu.be/L-xqWpkPAPM
Thank you to all the supporters who encouraged us since the beginning as well as new viewers who are just discovering the videos.
Note: I still use the same simple recipe for the noodles, but now I just add 5 cups of boiling water all at once.

Thank you to LAOSD and the San Diego Lao Food Festival committee for selecting me as the first person to receive this award. The success of Cooking with Nana YouTube channel that started in 2011 was a total surprise to me and I am happy that it led to connections with all these people who care so much about our Lao food, arts, and culture. It gets even better from here. Letβs all move forward together!

Cooking with Nana
Somehow my daughter and I ended up watching old Cooking with Nana videos on YouTube past 1am in my bed while playing my game last night. Talina was 7 years old when I started doing those videos. She is now 18 and a freshman at our local university UC Merced.
