I'm cooking a video on some 4 brutal Kings and Queens of Africa.

"Shaka" is a reminder of the rejection his mother met when he was conceived.
Firstly, his father denied the pregnancy and said his mother had a sickness called Isitshaka. His mother clan believed this as well.
He rejected the name as much as he could but since childhood, the name had stick over his original name Sgidi. Instead of calling him Isitshaka they twisted it to uShaka because it would be risky to call a king sick.

It'll probably be out by end of this month.

I'm considering doing a review of this movie #anikulapo on it's historical accuracy and I don't want my subscribers to be left out. Please signify if you've watched it/if you would like me to do it or not.

Evidence indicates that these pierced lip-ornaments have been independently invented no fewer than six times in Sudan, Eritrea and Ethiopia (8700 BC), Mesoamerica (1500 BC), and coastal Ecuador (500 BC).

It was said that this practice was first carried out in east Africa to make the indigenes look ugly when Arab merchants continually raided their villages in search of slaves. That explanation has been rejected as studies reveal that the plates are a symbol or expression of social status.
