Hello fellow readers, I know Iāve mostly posted more lighthearted recs so far, even though Iām someone who reads a bit of everything and prefers series with darker themes and morally complex characters. Iāve been giving my recs on more lighthearted series that I still found enjoyable. I have tried my best to exclude manga series that include straight-up SA and only involve dubcon at most. But if there ever is full-on SA, I will state that for more sensitive readers. Sometimes, these less lighthearted series are ones I recommend because I think the storyline is still enjoyable, and I try to include something with a happy ending or bittersweet at most. If ever, tragic endings would be very rare.
I just wanted to say that Iām not someone who enjoys giving out spoilers if I can avoid it, because itās not something I like to do. I often get asked for spoilers because some people need to make sure the series matches their expectations and needs before diving into it. But for me personally, I value the element of surprise in reading and feel a bit hurt when someone asks for spoilers, even after Iāve tried to explain that what theyāre trying to filter out isnāt in a series Iām recommending. Sometimes, authors write in a way that deliberately makes you think a certain way (including making you think a character has been SAād against their will), but then uncover the rest of the scenario later with further contextāwhether itās through revealing their hidden inner dialogue or showing a different characterās perspective. Things are not always as they seem, and these are the types of series I enjoy the most. I would be sad to spoil that kind of surprise.
So if you are someone who requires a strictly healthy storyline with straightforward, healthy-minded characters, I canāt always guarantee that, because not every great story is so simple and straightforward. Thatās why I often mention when there is dubcon as a hint that the series isnāt always so sweet. I am tailoring a lot of my recs based on what I enjoy and what I think my viewers would like, so we can meet on some common ground.
In the future, if you feel hesitant about any of my recs, I would suggest just avoiding it if thatās what your gut is telling you. Itās totally understandable that everyone has their own preferences, and I will continue to state TWs in my videos if there are any, without giving away any more spoilers on my part.
I finally added 2 large backdrop prints on the left side of the shrines, filling in majority of the empty spaces of that corner. My Therapy Game and Ghostās Nocturne shrines are gonna be super tiny with only 1 shelf each since I canāt bring myself to downsize any current shelves on that side. I feel like MXTXās works deserve the center of attention, although yeah, Seth has made his way to the front as well š for everything heās been through in Ennead, he deserves it!!
This month, I finally got back all of the Ghostās Nocturne merch I originally sold off š I added Team Lezhin acrylics and still waiting on the Mofun merch, so itās gonna be like this for awhile. Forget adding anything more to Therapy Game anytime soon cause Iām broke š
I switched a couple of mdzs shelves around and even put some mdzs plushies and acrylics into storage cause they donāt fit into the shrine nicely and I wanted to expand the Erha shrine which now extends to 1 full bookcase. Thereās a lot of empty spaces for now, but at least I got some Erha acrylics this month to help with that!
I kinda got back into watching Thai BL this month. It started with Meet You at the Blossom cause itās the first Thai drama with Chinese actors making an uncensored BL drama! I believe itās a collaboration between Thailand, China, and Taiwan which is so freaking cool. I enjoyed watching Chinese actors being able to fully express their affections without censorship which is so refreshing. It was a romantic, comedic drama. I also watched Love Sea and My Love Mix Up!
As for debt update, I made a video this month that went semi-viral (like almost 1M ppl now know Iām in debt to my mom š ) and I got a lot of hate for it lol but Iād say posting it was worth it cause I made decent money from it which will go towards paying off my debt š my mom knows I post about my debt updates, and sheās only curious about my videos when it goes viral š the hate comments gets to me sometimes, but the pay makes it bearable. I was at 2.6k in my debt update video and now itās currently 2.3k. Slow progress is still progress š thanks for reading, see ya next month! āš»
July 2024 Shrine Wrap Up!! š this month I made more Seth dolls to fill up that corner of my shrine. I made him using multiple base bodies and I like the fact that he lines up from large to smallākinda like Russian nesting dolls lol that space is almost filled up, so Iām pretty content with how itās looking.
I think I only got a couple of mdzs music boxes this month andāoh, of course, letās address the elephant in the room: Xie Lian Comic Ver. Ringdoll! Heās kind of in a stiff pose since Iām using his doll stand to support my 1/3 Seth doll. I also preordered Hua Cheng Comic, so Iām expecting that either in December or early next year. Iām noticing that my Ringdolls have been talking longer to process and the longest Iāve waited for my doll was 7 months. I take that as a good thing as it means Ringdoll has been getting business with these mxtx dolls! Although, since preordering Hua Cheng Comic, Iāve also relapsed and my debt has risen, so I think he will be my final Ringdoll until my debt is paid off. Itās not like I have much space left for more dolls right now anyway haha. Iām very content with how my shrine is turning out each month. Little by little, Iām just adding more pieces to fill up the empty spaces.
In case you didnāt know, I went through a roller coaster with The Ghostās Nocturne merch this month. Iāve sold off the merch for it last month then a few days later, Mofun announced a huge merch drop followed by Team Lezhin pop up event. I went back and reread this series and fell in love all over againā¦oh boy, that was one of my biggest spending relapse in awhile. Iām starting to collect this series again, and itās currently a tiny shrine. Eventually, when I receive all my Mofun merch (probably will get it next year lol) Iāll probably dedicate either half or a full book case to it in our hallway since my mom encouraged me to do so. I still canāt believe she actually lets me.
But the most important thing I wanna do is pay off my debt since I was doing really well before all of those preorders lol thanks for reading! See you next month āš»
June 2024 Shrine Wrap Up!! āļø I think I went all out this month with my Ennead shrine. I expanded it from 2 half bookcases to 1.5 bookcases. I canāt expand it anymore since Iāve literally maxed out my wall space in this room.
I started off the month pretty strong with a 2.5ft tall Seth crochet doll which took me about a week to make. I havenāt been so excited for a big project like this in a long time, and the enthusiasm made me wake up early every morning to complete this doll. After that, I crochet the rest of the family tree everyday for 2 weeks straight. It was bliss. But Iām also very achy all over.
I plan on printing more Seth and Horus posters to place it on either sides of the bookcase, and Iāll be taking a break from making anymore things for these shrines to do my doll wall project. I do have more diy Seth projects in mind, but Iāll need to find the funds for it. Itās gonna be a very big BIG project (larger than me) if I manage to ever get to it. I think making multiple versions of him using different materials is so fun! The hyperfixation is so strong that Iām glad theyāre not releasing new merch right now or Iāll be screwed š I feel like Iām in such a vulnerable state that I need them to not release anything new. I was so tempted to get the Ghostās Nocturne Mofun merch, but since I just sold off my other acrylics, I think thatās a sign that I shouldnāt lol
This month I got more ennead merch and Iāve collect most of the Mofun merch theyāve released. I did place an order for the ennead AR cards, but Iām gambling because thereās a chance what Iām getting could be bootleg or even scam haha I hope that order goes through.
I think the rest of the shrines are pretty much the same. Not many new additions this month since Iāve slowed down with purchasing, so thereās probably gonna more diy merch in the upcoming months š my Xie Lian comic Ringdoll should be shipped within a month or so, so thereās that to look forward to! August 2024 Shrine Wrap Up!! š
