Taking into account this new addition along with their already-apparent starpower (Zion, Ingram, McCollum), & core role players acquired through the draft (Herb Jones, Tre Murphy, Yves Missi), should this team be looked at as a serious contender going into next season?
I’m not entirely sure if I can answer this quite yet, but this to me marks the most intriguing roster move the Pelicans have made since DeMarcus Cousins teamed up with AD all those years back. That’s the last time I can remember being this invested in Pels basketball.
The Finals MVP conversation has grown a lot more complicated after former front runner Jaylen Brown recorded an unimpressive 10-point, 1-rebound statline on 25% shooting in game 4. Tim Hardaway Jr. - who hasn’t scored a point in a month - outscored him 5 minutes into him first being inserted in the game.
Is it now realistic to expect Luka Doncic to win this year’s Finals MVP, regardless of whether Dallas takes home the ‘chip?
