Daniela Sieff, PhD

I’ve always been curious about what makes human beings who we are, & about the forces that shape our lives.

During my 20s that curiosity led me to study for a PhD in anthropology at Oxford University, & I became fascinated by how evolutionary history shapes us. As part of my research I lived in a wilderness area of Tanzania, & worked with people who herded cattle, goats & sheep in traditional ways.

During my 30s, the focus of my curiosity shifted. I was struggling in my own life & became curious about how childhood emotional trauma shapes us, & also how we can reshape ourselves through a therapeutic process.

I approach trauma & healing from two directions: I look inside to what I carry in my mind & body, and my scholar’s eye looks outside to the research and wisdom of others.

On this channel, I'll share some of what I've learnt & what I am continuing to learn. I plan to post a few well-researched videos rather than a lot of material, & I hope it will speak to your curiosity.
