The EU has recently changed the rules for importing goods from outside the union and now each item on Temu seems to be charged with €3 extra import duties at checkout. €150 order incurs €40 import charges and hence becomes a €190 order total.
I really hope there’s going to be some sort of deal or workaround for this as otherwise it doesn’t make much sense ordering from Temu to the EU anymore.

I do find it quite hypocritical though how local stores and websites are selling these same items bought from the same suppliers for 5 times the price with virtually no criticism, while the consumers purchasing from these affordable overseas websites are facing all the backlash.
It’s no surprise after all how consumers flock to the source of the products when this globalised world gives us the opportunity to do so and benefit from lower prices, especially in this cost of living crisis Europe has been in for the past few years.

These changes to the import duties have of course been designed by the greedy corporations who own most of the chain retail stores on the continent.

One of my recent favourites is now on 40% off sale on Temu! This super soft faux fur jacket I got in a recent try-on haul is just €12.80 at the moment!
I ordered the size M but it’s definitely a little big on me so I’m now going to get the size S.
