Practicing accent partials over septuplets is not something you might take to the gig, but what it does is refine your execution of accents…
Practicing rudiments like paradiddles up at 300bpm is not something you’ll take to the gig, but it refines your stick control.
Practicing 11:7 #polyrhythm is not something you’ll take to a gig but it refines your execution of rhythm and meter.

In my recent New Years post… (and frankly any post that talks about #polyrhythm )… there are always a flock of inevitable comments that say something to the effect of:
“yeah, but good luck using that in a song, bruh!”
The facts are… #polyrhythms are just like any other rhythm and they serve the same function.
Any great drummer or musician with musical intelligence uses them like they use any other rhythmic figure, without discrimination… but like any other rhythm, they require study and practice.
