The interview I did recently on scar treatment using CureJet and Juvelook
has now been featured in Medical Aesthetic magazine.

CureJet has shown effective results in treating hypertrophic scars,
depressed acne scars, and scars that are deeply adhered in small areas—
cases that can be difficult to improve with conventional devices.
Because of this, it has been receiving a lot of attention from physicians
during academic seminars and clinical trainings, and it is also one of the treatments
that many patients frequently inquire about.

CureJet improves scars through two key mechanisms.
First, it delivers regenerative agents precisely to the targeted layer
to promote collagen production.
Second, the micro-shockwave generated during the injection process
releases adhesion within the skin and remodels the abnormal scar tissue,
allowing new collagen to form and helping the treated area
blend more naturally with the surrounding skin.

Since the regenerative agents are delivered at a speed of 500 m/s
through microscopic channels, there is minimal redness or scabbing after treatment,
resulting in a shorter recovery period.

However, the appropriate agents and combination treatments may vary depending on
the scar’s location, depth, pattern, and the patient’s skin type.

💎지난 2월부터 참여해온 연구가 마무리되어
한국 손등 레디어스 시술 가이드라인을 발표했습니다!

손등은 피부가 얇고 지방층이 적어
노화와 탄력 저하가 특히 잘 드러나는 부위라

💎 The research project I’ve been involved in since February has concluded, and I’m excited to share the official Korean Guideline for Radiesse for Hand Rejuvenation!

The skin on the hands is thin with minimal subcutaneous fat, making the dorsum of the hand an area where signs of aging and loss of elasticity are particularly noticeable. It's one of the most frequently requested areas during patient consultations.

While Radiesse has long been widely used for hand skin improvement—having received prior FDA approval—this latest update to the Korean Treatment Guideline will enable even safer and more systematic procedures going forward.

During the research process, I personally performed the Radiesse procedure on both myself and my mother's hands. We both saw a distinct improvement, noticing smoother and brighter skin tone.

I was especially delighted that my mother's case, which showed excellent results, was included as a clinical example in the domestic guideline! ☺️

I truly hope this guideline can offer an effective solution for those concerned about hand aging and for the medical professionals who receive numerous inquiries about this topic. 💜

지난달, 국내 미용시술 부작용 TF 위원으로
회의에 다녀왔습니다.

지난 4월에는 제가 APAC(아시아·태평양) 부작용 전문가로 위촉되어
우리나라 대표로 네덜란드에 방문해 아시아 태평양 의료진분들과
함께 연구 및 교육 세션을 진행했던 경험이 있었는데요,

이번에는 우리나라 미용시술 부작용
가이드라인을 제작하기 위한 TF 모임이 발촉되어
참석하고 왔습니다.

이번 회의에는 부작용 관련 논문을 다수 집필하신
네덜란드 피부과 전문의 Jonathan Kadouch 박사님께서
직접 참석하셔서 전 세계 가이드라인에 대한 강의를 해주셨습니다.

제가 평소에 많이 참고하던 논문을 집필하신 분이라서
너무나 반가웠습니다.^^

저를 비롯해 각 디렉터 지점에서는
다른 병원에서 시술 후
부작용이 발생한 환자분들을
치료하고 있는 케이스들이 많은데요

이번 회의 이후로도 몇 차례의 추가 미팅을 통해
국내 미용시술 부작용 대응 가이드라인을 마련하고,
응급 상황에 대비한 키트 제작에도 참여할 예정입니다.

앞으로도 누구나 안전한 미용 시술을 받을 수 있도록
열심히 하도록 하겠습니다!

Last month, I attended a meeting as a member of the national Task Force for complications related to aesthetic procedures.

In April, I had the opportunity to visit the Netherlands as the APAC (Asia-Pacific) complications advisor representing Korea, where I participated in research and training sessions with medical professionals from across the Asia-Pacific region.

This time, the Task Force was convened to establish standardized guidelines for managing complications associated with aesthetic procedures in Korea, and I attended as part of that effort.

Dr. Jonathan Kadouch, a dermatologist from the Netherlands who has authored numerous publications on aesthetic complications, was also present and gave a lecture on global guidelines.
I often refer to his research in my own clinical work, so it was especially meaningful to hear from him in person.

At our clinic, as well as other Director Clinic branches, we frequently treat patients who have experienced complications after procedures at other clinics. Because of this, the discussion during this meeting felt particularly important and relevant.

Moving forward, we will continue with additional meetings to establish national guidelines for managing aesthetic complications and to develop an emergency response kit for clinical use.

I will continue working to ensure that aesthetic treatments can be performed safely, so that anyone can receive care with confidence.

꽃말이 행운과 부이고,
영화 레옹 속에 등장하는 식물이더라고요.

영화 속에서 마틸다가 레옹의 식물을 땅에 심으며
‘정착’과 ‘새로운 시작’을 상징했던 것처럼,
저희 병원에서 피부 고민을 털어내고
이제는 결혼이라는 새로운 인연을 맺으신
환자분의 모습이 그 장면과 겹쳐 보였습니다.

두 분의 사랑과 새로운 출발을 진심으로 축하드리며,
앞으로의 모든 날들에 행복이 가득하길 바랍니다🥰

I recently received a lovely Aglaonema plant from a patient who had undergone acne treatment with us, along with the happy news of her upcoming wedding. 🪴

After her treatment, she shared that people around her often commented on how clear and radiant her skin looked — and that alone already made me so proud.

💐 But this time, she told me,
“Thanks to gaining confidence through the treatment, I was able to date… and now I’m getting married.”
Hearing those words made me feel deeply rewarded as a dermatologist.

She also sent me her digital wedding invitation and mentioned that there was almost no skin retouching, and that she wanted to show it to me for that very reason. (That truly made my day ^^)

I later found out that Aglaonema symbolizes good fortune and prosperity, and that it even appears in the film Léon: The Professional.
In the movie, Matilda plants Léon’s wandering potted plant into the earth to symbolize “settling” and a new beginning.”

In the same way, she overcame her skin concerns here at the clinic, and is now beginning a beautiful new chapter in her life — and that parallel felt so meaningful to me.

Wishing the couple endless happiness and love in the days ahead.
