I make travel videos for people over 50 who plan their own trips. Everything on this channel is a journey I've actually taken — the Norway Coastal Express, the Bergen railway, river cruises on the Rhine and Danube, ferries around the Canary Islands — and I tell you what it really cost, what was worth it, and what the brochures leave out.
I'm interested in both the journey and the destination. There will be no sponsored gushing, just what I'd tell a friend who asked whether it was worth doing.

Seems like the situation is getting worse for river cruises in europe. I read a report that border police in Bulgaria had to evacuate 186 passengers from the Viking Ullur when it ran aground close to Vidin. Passengers had been running low on food and water because the cruise ship was unable to dock, and another boat that was called in to help was unable to get close enough!
My Experience this summer with Riviera seems very tame in comparison, but you can see my video here.

Does the threat of low river levels put you off going on a cruise? You can catch my story about the threat of low levels here ... Later this week I will have another video for you dealing what I wish I'd know (good and bad) before going on a river cruise. How would I vote I'd still river cruise despite what happened for me? I'd go again it's great slow travel.

Hi everyone,
Just back from a two-week filming trip on a river cruise from Budapest to, in theory, Cologne. However, the warm weather in Europe really is having a big effect on rivers, and I was hit on several days by low river levels.
Whilst my full series of videos about the river cruise will come out later this year, I thought I'd get an emergency episode out for you this week talking about what happened to me with the low river levels.
Have you had a cruise impacted by low river levels? I'd love to know in the comments.

Hi everyone! Hope you're having a fantastic weekend.
I'm currently heading back from Norway after a little filming trip, for some videos for you later in the year. You can see that I'm happy in the sun on a ferry and in Stavanger, whilst not so happy when it was raining in Kristiansand.
Let me know, do you find that your impressions of places are very much impacted by what the weather is like when you're there?
Sometimes people say they like a place and you're like, "Oh, I didn't like it," and then you remember the weather wasn't very good when you were there.

Hope you are all having a great Tuesday. Mine has been very wet. Yesterday I was on an uninhabited island near Oslo. Today the Oslo-Bergen railway. Tomorrow a short cruise out of Bergen (not the coastal express). Videos will drop on the channel later in the year…oh and its still raining! 🤣
