The Historian's Craft

Welcome to The Historian's Craft!

Here on this channel, we will be covering all manner of historical events and phemonena, with a strong emphasis on Late Antiquity, although since my academic specialty is Modern Japan, we'll be taking a look at that subject heavily as well.

6,500 and growing! Let's keep it up!

Wanna learn about the stone from the Roman period, buried at Stonehenge, shaped like a phallus? Stay tuned!

I’m being completely serious. Was reading a report for a different topic and the archaeologist was basically like “yeah we found a stone d*ck. We don’t know if it’s a joke or not from several thousand years ago”

Weird stones shaped like axes? Surely they must be evidence of prehistoric man! *People in Europe 500 BC - 1800-ish AD* Nah bro they’re made by lighting and fall from the sky. If you give it to a pregnant woman it induces child birth!

This is gonna be a video you want a drink for, when it comes out

The next video exploring how “ancient civilizations had their own civilizations” is going to be a fun one! It’s going to be focusing folklore and myths, mainly on the use of paleo/neolithic hand axes by later cultures like the Unetice and the Romans, among many others, as talismans to ward off lighting—hence their name, Thunderstones

This particular example comes from Bulgaria
