This canvas was approved by John’s cat Stormy before I painted it. 😹

Anyway, the idea for this painting came to me when I was thinking about some people’s obsession with what happens to the body after someone dies, as shown by their drawing and decorating with skeletons, skulls, and death themed things. And I thought, How much better it would be if we pictured where our loved ones really are and what they are really doing now.

Your body is not your real you. It is just your temporary housing that allows you to live on this side, in this dimension, and do things that impact other people who are also living on this side.

John is not dead, in the way we think about it in our culture. He has just moved to the other side, the other dimension. Jesus taught us this when He told the Sadducees, “Haven’t you read that God told Moses, ‘I am (present tense) the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?’ God is not God of dead people, but He is God of living people.” (Matthew 22:23-33)

In other words, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob are not dead in the way you think of dead, as if life is just extinguished and nothing more happens, as if a person ceases to exist. They have just moved to another dimension, and continue to live there. And you will too, one day.

In the meantime, make the most of this short time that you have to impact other people and change the world for the better. You only get one short shot at that, before you move to where everything is perfect. Work while it is day, because the night comes when no one can work. The work will be all done. And we will all sit around and tell the stories, so make sure you have some good ones. ❤️‍🩹✨
