THE TRUTH ABOUT WHY AJS IS STILL SINGLE

If the Lord didn’t send you, don’t try to copy him by staying unmarried… There are certain things you must understand about AJS’s personal consecration with God…

Listen to me very carefully.

I am not going to address this topic because I enjoy being discussed. I am addressing it because the noise around it has become a distraction — and distractions, beloved, are one of Satan’s most effective weapons against destiny.

So sit down. Let me teach you something.

Firstly —

There is a category of men in Scripture and in history that God pulls aside. Not because they are better than others. Not because marriage is inferior. God forbid. Marriage is honourable. Hebrews 13:4 says it clearly — “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled.” I believe that. I preach that. Don’t twist my life into a doctrine I have never taught.

But there is a specific class of men — men under a specific mantle — where God Himself becomes the negotiator of their personal life. And when God enters that negotiation, you don’t override Him with sentiment.

Now hear me.

Paul said it in 1 Corinthians 7:7 — “For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.”

Did you see that? Paul called celibacy a gift. Not a tragedy. Not a lack. Not something to be pitied or gossiped about at your family reunion. A gift.

And gifts, beloved, are not chosen by the recipient. Gifts are given by the giver. You don’t walk up to God and say, “Give me the gift of celibacy.” God walks up to you and says, “I have chosen you for a different kind of altar.”

This is where most people miss it.

You are looking at my life through the lens of your own expectations. You are measuring my consecration with the ruler of your culture. But culture is not canon. Culture shifts. The Word of God does not shift.

When God gives a man a global mandate — when He says to a man, “I need all of you, not half of you” — something in that man’s interior must respond with surrender. Not resignation. Surrender. There is a difference. Resignation is pain that has been suppressed. Surrender is love that has been released.

I am not in pain. I want you to hear that.

I am at peace. (AJS )

Now — and this is the most important thing I will say — do not copy what you cannot carry.

Some of you, because you admire this ministry, have begun to romanticize singleness. You are telling people, “I’m consecrated After the Order of APOSTEL JOSHUA SELMAN ” Beloved, consecration is not a relationship status. Consecration is a lifestyle of separation — separation from the world’s agenda, from the flesh’s demand, from the noise of men’s opinions — toward God.

You can be consecrated and be married. Abraham was married. David was married. Even Paul said it is better to marry than to burn. Don’t burn and call it holiness. That is not holiness. That is suppression wearing a spiritual garment.

Let me be direct with you.

If God has not specifically called you to a life of singleness for the sake of the Kingdom, then your job — your actual assignment from God — is to find a godly partner, build a godly home, and raise a generation that will carry this Kingdom forward. That is not a lesser calling. That is a holy calling.

What he carries is not a template. What AJS carries is a burden. And burdens are custom-built. God does not give one man’s burden to another man’s back.

There are dimensions of prayer he Enters that require a kind of stillness that God, in His wisdom, has structured his life to accommodate. There are hours in the night. There are seasons of fasting. There are moments of radical availability that the Lord has demanded from him — and He has structured his personal life accordingly.

This is not loneliness.
This is love — love for a God who loved him first, and love for a generation he is willing to pour everything out for.

And to those who pity him — beloved, please redirect that energy.

Don’t pity the man God is using. Pray for him. Support the work. And get busy with your own assignment, because the day of the Lord is closer than when we first believed, and none of us — married or single — has time to waste on spectating another man’s consecration.

In conclusion.

If God has sent you — if He has spoken to your spirit, if there is a genuine grace on your life for this kind of living — then walk in it boldly, and let no man make you feel ashamed.

But if He has not sent you — if this is your own idea, born out of a broken heart or a fear of commitment or a desire to look “spiritual” —

Go and marry.

Go and build.
Go and be fruitful.
That is also the command of God.

And may the Lord give every one of us the grace to discern the difference between God’s design and our own desire — because one leads to fruitfulness, and the other leads to frustration.
