Happy 70th Birthday to Robby Benson 🎂
Born in 1956 in Dallas, actor, director, and singer Robby Benson is best known to Disney fans as the speaking voice of Prince Adam / the Beast from Beauty and the Beast.
While the Beast does not sing in the animated film, Benson's performance was crucial to the character's impact. Through powerful dialogue and emotional delivery, he helped transform the Beast from frightening and misunderstood into vulnerable, human, and deeply sympathetic, a key reason the character remains so beloved.
Benson later reprised the role in Beauty and the Beast:
The Enchanted Christmas, Belle's Magical World, Belle's Tales of Friendship, Mickey's Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse, and several Disney video games.
Beyond Disney, he enjoyed a successful on-screen career starring in films such as Ice Castles, Ode to Billy Joe, Harry and Son, The Chosen, Tribute, and One on One. A fascinating piece of Hollywood trivia: in 1975, he screen-tested for the role of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, before the part ultimately went to Mark Hamill.
As a director, Benson went on to helm episodes of popular TV series including Ellen, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and 8 Simple Rules. In 2010, he reunited with Paige O'Hara, the voice of Belle at the premiere of the Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along DVD, a special moment for longtime fans.

A legendary Disney storyteller has left us 🖤
Roger Allers (1949 - 2026), the visionary writer and co-director of The Lion King, has passed away at the age of 76.
Roger Allers was one of the creative hearts behind the Disney Animation Renaissance, a time when animated films didn't just entertain, they stayed with us. Alongside Rob Minkoff, he helped bring The Lion King to life in 1994, creating a film filled with emotion, music, and characters that would go on to shape childhoods and inspire generations around the world.
Those who knew and worked with Roger remember him not only for his immense talent, but for his kindness, generosity, and deep love for storytelling. Disney veteran Dave Bossert spoke of his joyful spirit and sense of wonder, qualities that lifted everyone around him and made every creative space feel brighter.
Disney CEO Bob Iger paid tribute, calling Allers a creative visionary who understood the true power of storytelling, how heart, character, and music could come together to create something timeless.
Beyond The Lion King, Roger Allers contributed to many beloved Disney projects, including Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove, and Brother Bear. He also directed the Oscar-nominated short The Little Matchgirl and the animated feature Open Season, always bringing warmth and humanity to his work.
Roger Allers didn't just create films, he created moments that lived in our hearts. His legacy will continue to echo every time the music swells, the sun rises, and a new generation discovers the magic of animation.
