The Story of a Bag Named KSU
Hello, friends! Today I want to tell you the story of a very special bag. To be more precise — a bag named KSU (Ksu).
This bag wasn’t born by chance. I made it for my eldest daughter as a birthday gift. For weeks, she had been following me around, asking with teenage persistence:
— Dad, can you make me a leather bag?
And I kept hesitating — what kind of bag should it be? I wanted it to be something special. Not just an accessory, but a bag with character. Something youthful, stylish, and at the same time — warm, “fatherly”.
I started looking closely at every bag I came across: in shop windows, on people’s shoulders, online. I explored women’s bag departments, studying every detail. Yes, I got quite a few curious looks — but that’s the price of inspiration.
Nothing truly resonated with me. Then suddenly — a miracle! I found a pattern online that looked a lot like the one I’d been imagining. Sure, the model wasn’t perfect: wrong leather type, questionable details… but I ordered the pattern without hesitation. That was the first step.
As I began sketching and working with the leather, I had a breakthrough. While assembling it, I figured out how to adapt the template to my chosen material. Most importantly, I discovered how to give the bag the exact shape I had envisioned. The solution was simple yet brilliant: I made an inner seam and turned the bag inside out. And there it was — just as I had imagined.
That’s how KSU was born — a bag filled with love and soul. Today, it travels across Europe with my daughter. It’s become her companion, her friend, a piece of home on unfamiliar streets.
A year passed. And for her next birthday, I returned to that same pattern. With different materials — leather and denim — I created a new version of KSU. It had a different mood, new colors, but the same warmth that only a dad can stitch into a bag for his daughter.
That’s how a small KSU series was born — unique versions of one spirit, traveling the world with my daughter.
