Closed listings see rare annual increase! For the 1st time in 2 years, Chicagoland’s residential marketplace saw a year-over-year increase in closed listings. This is a 2% annual increase in this span, but a 41% week-over-week increase.

What does this mean?
Spring inventory has already begun picking up, on account of positive economic indicators that are influencing sellers that held off during rate hikes in 2023.

Spring in Chicago is the busiest homebuying season, and 2024 is shaping up to be more competitive than ever.
Buyers will have more homes to choose from, but should consider that market times will be short, competitive bids will be likely, and prices will be higher.
