Welcome to JHPLiving.
I’m Jamie, a Brit who left the 9–5 to explore and document life across Southeast Asia.
This channel focuses on:
• Real stories from locals and travellers
• The true cost of living in Southeast Asia
• Cultural contrasts between the UK and Asia
• Street-level experiences you don’t see in travel brochures
From market vendors to everyday life abroad, I’m documenting what life actually looks like on the ground.
If you’ve ever questioned the 9–5 or wondered what living in Southeast Asia is really like, you’re in the right place.

Recently I’ve been doing a lot of thinking… about this channel and about my life in general.
When I first started posting videos it was simply a fun way to document my journey.
Leaving a safe corporate path. Travelling. Trying new things. Figuring out what a more fulfilling life could look like.
Over time though, I realised I slowly started creating content more for views, formats and what I thought I should post… rather than what genuinely excited me.
And if I’m being honest, I drifted away from what I really wanted this journey to be about.
So I’ve decided to make a bigger change.
I’m starting a new chapter focused more on mindset, discipline, confidence and building a meaningful life and so I’ve created a new YouTube channel where I’ll be documenting that journey more intentionally.
I also want to build something beyond just videos.
A real community of men who feel like they’re capable of more and want to take action to change their lives.
If that resonates with you, you can follow my new channel (link in comments) and also join the free brotherhood I’ve started in telegram (link in comments as well).
This current channel will still exist as part of my story and journey so far, but going forward my main focus will be this new direction and building something more purpose-driven.
Thank you for being part of the journey up to this point.
It genuinely means a lot.
Let’s see where this next chapter leads.

I’ve left Vietnam for a little while and I’ve been doing some travel around Northern Thailand, one of my favourite places in the world.
I’ve been in Pai for the past week, a small little town a few hours North of Chiang Mai, and I’ve been riding around up in the mountains.
This trip has given me realisations around what happens when you change your environment, create space, and let your thoughts settle.
New video is live on my page, hit the bell icon to be notified of uploads. This one’s more reflective than usual. If you’re in a transitional season too, it might resonate.
Let me know what you think.

I’m uploading a video that’ll be live in 2 hours that I wasn’t sure I wanted to make. Everyone talks about how exciting big cities in Asia are. Which is true. But fewer people talk about the trade-offs.
After a year living in Vietnam’s biggest city, I finally sat down and asked myself if this past year here has been worth it and discuss some of the things that don’t make it into the Instagram posts… the pros and the cons.
Stay tuned for it ✌️

After 10 years away I headed back to Thailand and my first stop was.. Bangkok! 🇹🇭
I recorded a video whilst I was there: Can You Still Eat for $1 in Bangkok? (2025 Street Food Challenge)
I spent the evening in Chinatown (Yaowarat) trying to find the CHEAPEST street food I could and some of the prices surprised me, especially when I compare it to my last visit 10 years ago.
What would you go for first?
Dumplings? Fried Chicken? Pork Skewers? Dessert (sticky mango rice)?
Watch it here 👇

Just dropped a new video:
Vietnam’s Best Kept Secret: The Ha Giang Loop (2025 Guide) 🇻🇳
I did the 4 day Premium Tour with Road Kings in November 2025 and this video covers everything (itinerary, costs, easy rider vs driving yourself, accommodation, what to pack and my honest thoughts etc) a well as some cool clips of the trip itself!
If you’re thinking about doing the Loop (or already booked it) or just interested in seeing why this is one of the best tours you can ever do… give it a watch and let me know what you’re thoughts!👇

The Ha Giang Loop is hands down one of the best things I’ve ever done and we’re only on day 2 of 4!
The freedom out on the open roads surrounded by stunning landscapes and nature… it doesn’t get much better than this 🙌
If you haven’t experienced the loop add it to your bucket list!
