**Scripture:** *"This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you."* – 2 Timothy 1:6 (NLT)
**Reflection:** The Apostle Paul writes this verse to Timothy, encouraging him to rekindle the spiritual gift given to him by God. This reminder is not just for Timothy but for all believers. God has entrusted each of us with unique talents and spiritual gifts to serve His kingdom. These gifts, like a fire, need care and attention to remain strong and effective.
Fanning into flames means actively nurturing and using the gifts God has given us. It requires intentional effort—prayer, study, and action. Just as a fire fades when neglected, our spiritual fervor can wane if we don't prioritize our relationship with God and our calling.
This verse also reminds us that the gifts are not of our own making; they are from God. Paul’s mention of laying hands refers to a moment of affirmation, a recognition that God’s Spirit is at work. In the same way, we can look to moments in our lives when God affirmed our calling and giftedness, using them as motivation to keep moving forward.
**Application:** - **Reflect on Your Gifts:** What gifts has God given you? Are you using them fully, or have they been left dormant? - **Take Action:** Consider practical ways to use your gifts this week. Whether it’s teaching, encouraging, serving, or another form of ministry, take a step of faith. - **Nurture the Flame:** Spend time in prayer, asking God to reignite your passion and show you how to use your gifts effectively. Surround yourself with people who encourage you to grow spiritually.
**Prayer:** *Heavenly Father, thank You for the unique gifts You have placed in my life. Help me to fan them into flames and use them for Your glory. When I feel weary or unsure, remind me of Your Spirit within me and the purpose You’ve called me to fulfill. Strengthen my faith and guide my steps so that I may serve You wholeheartedly. In Jesus’ name, Amen.*
