Equitable Equations

Hi everybody! I'm Andrew Gard, a professor of mathematics and computer science at Lake Forest College, just north of Chicago, USA, where I teach statistics in R to beginning, intermediate, and advanced students. I started this channel because I believe that statistics and data science can be empowering and liberating for everyone.

Proceeds of this channel always benefit equity-based community organizations. Currently I'm supporting Chicago Scholars (chicagoscholars.org/). Please join me!

Equitable Equations

Just in time for the school year, my sister channel Normal Knowledge is adding a course on advanced probability to compliment NK College Statistics. If you're taking any sort of statistics this year, I've got you covered!

Equitable Equations

Hey all! I'm putting together a new ML/stats-focused YouTube and would love your help to make it amazing. This new channel, Normal Knowledge, will allow Equitable Equations to focus more tightly on #Rstats content, with fewer math deep-dives. Check our my initial offering, College Statistics (www.youtube.com/playlist?list...) and leave suggestions at forms.gle/pn9WvVnLrs7yxiFm7. You're the best!!

Equitable Equations

Hi everybody! Equitable Equations received a lovely write up from Lake Forest College this week. Check it out if you'd like to learn a little more about me and where I'm coming from.

Equitable Equations

Did you know that Equitable Equations donates a lot of its ad revenue to community organizations? Well, it does! In 2023 your clicks supported Chicago Youth Programs, the Roberti Community House, and the Trevor Project to the tune of more than $750. Thank you!!

Equitable Equations

It's back-to-school time! Maybe you're the one with the bookbag, or maybe it's your kids, cousins, or neighbors; regardless, I want to make math and stats a little more joyful. I've updated my playlists for Introductory Statistics (www.youtube.com/playlist?list...) and R Programming (youtube.com/playlist?list=PLKBUk9FL4nBYpUKszG4edyA…. There's also a less-noticed Calculus course: www.youtube.com/playlist?list.... Good luck!

Did you catch my series on logistic regression? These two vids are essential:

Understanding logistic regression: https://youtu.be/PIPVexXUvx0
Logistic regression in R: https://youtu.be/E7J3M1oYVlc

You'll find links about odds ratios and the logit transformation in those vids, in case you want to go deeper.

Equitable Equations

Equitable Equations turns three years old today, wow! I can't believe how different this channel - and the world - are now. In those early days back in 2020, I was just trying to communicate with locked-down students in my calculus and stats classes. If you're feeling brave, check out my first vid ever, shot with my Macbook sitting on a teetering pile of books on my desk.

Equitable Equations

Happy new year, everybody! I've got big plans for 2023, including a series on logistic regression and another on model selection. Even better, @RProgramming101 and I are plotting ways to expand our collaboration in the coming months - I think you're going to love it. Thanks for subscribing!
