Still here. Just haven’t been as active lately. December has always been a difficult month for me in general. And I’ve lost a lot of my enthusiasm for creating content. Hell, part of the reason I made this channel in the first place was because I was inspired by other people’s streams. I liked watching my friends stream their gameplay, so I wanted to try something new.

When I do get back to posting again, I will definitely finish up any unresolved videogame play-throughs. I actually have multiple YouTube channels and the one I least expected to gain viewers or subscribers started popping off. The algorithm is just very random when it comes to featuring creators’ content and it rarely goes the way you expect or the direction you intend it to go.

But I just want to say that it was never about the views or how many subs I have or if the games I’m playing have been done hundreds of times before.. it was all about having fun. That was something my best friend taught me about gaming. It doesn’t always have to be competitive or serious as some people make it, it can just be goofy or entirely social. Not everything needs to be about winning or losing and that’s where I lost myself in a lot of the noise and took certain multiplayer games way too seriously (like Evil Dead: The Game). I’ve been enjoying a lot of single player games more lately, and I’m at the end of Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate on Tactician, really excited to do an Honour Mode run. I’m very tempted to stream it on Twitch, as well, so it might be something worth checking out if you want to offer me advice or troll me when I get blasted off of some cliff, or become a mind flayer thrall 🤣

TLDR; I’m probably going back to streaming on my Twitch account again, but I’ll post here regularly once I’m active again. Dealing with a bout of depression, but I know I’ll get through it. It just takes time for things to start to get better again. And it takes longer for some than it does for others. Honestly, I hope we all make it. If you’re reading this? I hope life continues to get better for you and you accomplish all the things you set out to do 😊

Or we might never get the Kaiju Files because they will disengage from the conversation entirely and go on about their “subscribers” and their desperate need to stay relevant in an increasingly hostile algorithm environment that has long since abandoned them.

But don’t tell them that. It’s a crippling truth that I don’t think many, especially those in this fandom, can bear.

I know I'm really inconsistent with these uploads. Half of the time I have them unlisted and I schedule a day and time to have them post for me. I came up with this idea that if I record my gameplay one after the other and then schedule them that I will have a fairly consistent upload routine but that didn't end up materializing as of yet, sadly.

I've mainly been distracted playing a lot of Baldur's Gate 3 and reading up on the Knights of the Old Republic. RPGs have always been fun for me, especially when I'm trying to avoid online toxicity or get my mind off of the crazy stuff going on in the world. It really is getting scary out there.

I apologize for the lack of consistency, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel for me as things get better, slowly but surely. There is such a long list of games I have yet to touch and feature on my channel, but just having you guys drop in from time to time to leave a like or a comment is enough incentive for me to keep going. I enjoy using this channel to avoid negativity or politics, I'll leave every other influencer/podcaster to do that work for me lol. Again, thank you guys so much for visiting and hope you've had fun downloading some of these mods and trying them out for yourselves!

As for making commentary videos? It's possible, but I'll have to do some research on how to add my voice-over during OBS streaming. I'm sure it's not at all difficult but like with everything else, requires care and attention to detail and I haven't had the best attention span lately. If I do start doing commentary over my gameplay it will be at minimal because there's nothing more annoying (to me at least) than being immersed in someone's game and enjoying it only for it to be ruined by unnecessary or cringe commentary. To me, it's like watching a movie with someone and having them give an exposition or explanation for every scene that happens and that's just not the direction I intend to go in with my channel. Still, I'm thankful for all of your suggestions and I look forward to what comes next!
