So... I did it. I posted Episode 1.5 of the DIY Renovation Series, and to be completely honest, I feel super vulnerable about it. This video is raw, unpolished, and a very real look at what went wrong in the early stages of our renovation journey. It’s not easy to admit when you’ve made mistakes, especially when those mistakes cost you time, money, and a whole lot of peace of mind.

In the video, I share the full backstory of how we bought the house, came up with a renovation plan, and then how things went sideways with the contractors we hired. Looking back, there were so many red flags we missed—but at the time, we were just doing the best we could with the knowledge we had. It’s a tough lesson to learn, but I wanted to share this because I know so many people out there have had similar experiences.

I also want to say that in my area, finding a good contractor is like finding a needle in a haystack. It’s incredibly difficult to even get someone to return your call, let alone find someone reliable. I know we’re not alone in this struggle, and I hope that by sharing our story, it can help someone else avoid the same pitfalls.

If you’ve ever been burned by a contractor, felt overwhelmed by a renovation, or just want to see the full, unfiltered journey of how we ended up taking over this renovation ourselves, I hope you’ll check out the video. But I’ll admit, I’m nervous about how it will be received. Putting this out there feels like airing a very personal chapter of our lives, and I just hope it resonates with someone in a helpful way.

Thank you all for being here and for supporting us through this wild ride. Your encouragement means the world to me! ❤️

🎥 Let me know what you think—good, bad, or otherwise—and if you’ve ever faced something similar, I’d love to hear your story in the comments. Let’s talk about it!"

So what had happened was... 🤦‍♀️

First off, huge THANK YOU to everyone who's been watching Episode 2 of our DIY renovation series and leaving comments! You all had me cracking up AND reflecting on a very valid point: it seems the video may have jumped around from room to room a bit chaotically without much context.

To be fair, that chaos is a pretty accurate representation of how we were living it! 😂 But then I realized...you guys haven’t spent months trapped in this house like I have (lucky you!), so you're probably like, 'Wait, where are we now? What’s going on?'

Here’s the deal: I actually have some 'Before Before' footage from before we closed on the house (you know, when it was a hot mess express). I also captured the contractor saga—yes, that shady contractor—and all the work they did before we had to take over.

So I want to hear from YOU: Would you rather: 1️⃣ I pause the series and do a detailed video showing the property pre-closing condition and the contractor work (with all the receipts 📂), OR 2️⃣ I keep the momentum going and continue showing the renovations we did first, THEN circle back to the Before Before footage at the end?

Your vote matters because, well, I want this series to actually make sense for everyone (and not just me!). Plus, I’d rather laugh with y’all about this madness than confuse the heck out of you. Let me know your thoughts below! 👇👇

P.S. Stay tuned because there’s still A LOT of renovation craziness coming your way. 💪

Hello everyone. I wanted to get your opinion about something. I posted the final episode of the laundry room makeover yesterday. I was wondering if anyone was interested in me posting a marathon, start to finish re-edit of that project including the prices of everything that I used. Let me know your preference. Thanks so much for the support! 🥰

Hey Fam. There will not be a video today. I had oral surgery this week and then caught a cold. Needless to say, I am taking some time to recover. Good news is I solved the wiring problem, and it has been corrected. I'll get the next episode out as soon as possible. I hope to be able to start a weekly schedule soon. Until next time...
