♥️ I believe in magic. Or is it the magical? For me ,on stage that's where it happens, with everyone that is in the hall. On each note, between the notes and on each song. That connection is magic. Someone asked me yesterday if I ever get lonely on my solo shows. I said not at all, I never get lonely when I’m in connection. That’s what the shows are all about. Connecting together.

Could you share a moment of kindness you experienced recently? Maybe an act of kindness you received or gave.

Some days ago in Amsterdam, my bike chain fell off, I found myself on the bike path in the rain and not knowing what to do. A stranger passed by and within ten minutes my bike chain was back on and the friendly fellow was washing his hands in the rain, smiling. When I offered him to get coffee and cake he smiled some more and said he was just happy to help and doesn't want to be late to wherever it was he was going... and so I was left with receiving this kindness. As I cycled away, I felt my heart and it was so open. Oh that joyful love in the light of kindness, how it comes from within, tickles the heart and shines through.

I see music. Colors of music rushing in and then I’m flying.

Long hair or short hair?

Oh yes, the eternal question…. Whenever I ask that question, people say oh just be comfortable and free. But I am comfortable and free with both long hair and short hair. Some people say oh just be yourself. But dear I am myself and I’m a very happy and grateful self. I’m just asking a hair question, this is not a philosophical debate :) Close friends just smile or laugh it off and hug me.

I wonder what gets your good energies going?

For me it’s kindness, gentleness, open heart and a smile. That makes me feel those good energies. It’s a good place to start. And then I can get to my herbal tea, chocolate, a walk in the park, lunch and from there to my piano.

My mom always says “you just have to smile”.

I knew that smiling is good for overall well being, that it releases endorphins, dopamine, serotonin and even lowers blood pressure. But yesterday, I was told, it also boosts creativity. It rang true as perhaps, by smiling, the muses find you more approachable and trustworthy so then they come and bring songs.
