I am an HVAC/R journeyman technician in the Phoenix, AZ area. This area is infested with HVAC hacks, especially in the residential HVAC side of the business.
Over the past 20 years of being in this area I have collected many pictures and videos of the hackfest problem in our area which I have shared on youtube.
Most of my new videos will be "how to's" or otherwise show n tell with the occasional findings of some hackery.
I am also a "Geek" who's assorted hobbies include DIY automotive and electronics which will be featured here as well from time to time.

Here's how my Frankenstein Lab is doing for space temp vs the upstairs unit I have set to cool for the warm days we are now experiencing.
Note the Frankenstein Lab thermostat is not active. It is set to OFF.
However the supply air temp is dropping due to that evap being turned on by my heat pump that heats my domestic hot water. So sometimes my little room there cools down well into the 60's as the water tank is being heated. That is with the door open to the garage. If that door gets closed that room will over cool even more.

The bummer is that the water tank doesn't usually need to run in the peak of afternoon when I WANT that room to cool to use it in the summer. 😐

It got up to 93 degrees yesterday here in the AZ desert. Caused the Frankenstein Slim HP to engage 2nd stage a few times. πŸ˜†

Got my first TIG welder last night.
Not too bad of progress for the first use today after I got some pure argon (I run CO2 in my Miller MIG).
The bolt to the plate is steel. Old stuff.
The other is two dirty aluminum housings from Carrier EcoBlue I was practicing on.
That was way harder. I wire brushed it some but it's still thin and nasty there.

The goal will be to weld aluminum intake pipe and brackets if/when I turbo that Ford Ranger.
I'll try to weld in an O2 sensor bung and install my old wide band gauge sometime soon.

In a recent video at Metro Center I mentioned that I thought they were likely resurrecting it given that they added the new Light Rail station and other buildings were being remodeled but I guess not????

More multi family homes coming in it's place.
Guess they need to keep building those new "15 minute cities". 🫀

I broke them on camera I think so I'll have some video of that at some point this week.

The doorbell batteries went dead again. Stinkin' C batteries that we don't need otherwise. So I disassembled my old 2014 Nokia w/ Windows Mobile 8/10 that actually took a charge and booted up (daughter used it last) and stole the large lithium battery out of it.
Made a connector to remove and charge occasionally. It worked πŸ‘
I don't need no stinkin' C batteries! πŸ–•πŸ”‹
