‪@red_w1n‬​​​ my bad. You're absolutely right. Sorry I spread misinformation. Upon further research, the earliest one I could find with the lyrics mentioned was released by Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters as part of a 1943 collection containing the Christmas singles, “Jingle Bells/Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town” plus “Pistol Packin’ Mama/The Vict’ry Polka.” Thanks to the yt music archivist ‪@the78prof72‬​​ ​for making my search easier. He has the recording and its info on his channel

‪@red_w1n‬ brought up an interesting point. Some of the lyrics in Laufey's recent release, "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" aren't the usual ones you hear nowadays. Specifically...

With little tin horns, little toy drums
Rooty toot toots and rummy tum tums
Santa Claus is coming to town
And curly head dolls that toddle and coo
Elephants, boats, and kiddie cars too
Santa Claus is comin’ to town

Then kids in Girls and Boy land will have a jubilee

Ig those were the lyrics of the original song written by John Frederick Coots and Haven Gillespie in 1934. (I looked it up). The first recorded version of "Santa Claus Is Comin' to Town" was by banjoist Harry Reser and His Orchestra on October 24, 1934. The song was later popularized when it was performed by Eddie Cantor on his radio show in November 1934. Over the decades, it's been sang by a ton of singers and they opted to shorten the lyrics for some reason. Our beloved Laufey gave us the original uncut version. No surprise there. Queen 👑 don't miss in her originals and covers so she'd never give us a half-hearted attempt at anything :)
