OG Picasso is one of the first known American Afrobeats singers with a gift
for rapping grown out of his Bronx roots and a love for freestyling.
Growing-up, OG Picasso was first inspired by original Kanye West and
Eminem stateside, then Wizkid and Skepta overseas, which set him on a
musical path. As part of the Afro-Rap duo @GTempoh since 2018 with his best
friend & artist, G’latto, this is where OG found his sound and passion for
music. With influences from current Trap Music, Afrobeats & UK Afrobeats to
older Ghanaian Hiplife; OG strives to create a new age AfroTrap sound &
atmosphere called TRAPfrica in which he redefines TRAP as Those
Representing African Prosperity. He is driven to connect the African Diaspora
with the US originated ‘new school’ of music and aspires to musically bridge
the cultural divide between African countries. This vision allows him to use
his voice purposefully, turn his thoughts into reality, and memorialize
moments in time forever.
