Transformation begins within. Meditation is not an activity reserved for special occasions at Lotus Petal Senior Secondary School. It is woven into the rhythm of every school day. For forty minutes, every student pauses. In a world that constantly asks children to move faster, think quicker, and do more, these forty minutes create space to simply be- t𝗼 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 with themselves. It is a small practice, but one that grows quietly over time, nurturing focus, emotional awareness, resilience, and a sense of calm that extends far beyond the classroom. The earlier children are introduced to this practice, the more naturally it becomes a part of who they are. Just as academic concepts are strengthened through consistency, so are habits that shape character, emotional well-being, and the ability to navigate life with balance. Every child learns differently.

Assessment is often associated with marks, scores, and performance. But in the early years, its purpose is far more meaningful.

Recently, the AQA team conducted a Reading Assessment for the Primary Wing students, not to judge how much they know, but to understand where they are in their learning journey.

Reading is one of the most fundamental skills a child develops. It shapes comprehension, communication, curiosity, and confidence, becoming the foundation upon which future learning is built. Assessing reading at an early stage helps identify each child's strengths, recognise areas where additional support may be needed, and ensure that learning experiences are tailored to help every student progress with confidence.

When assessments are used as a tool for understanding rather than comparison, they become an opportunity to improve learning outcomes, not just for individual students, but for classrooms as a whole.

Because the goal isn't to measure children against a benchmark. It's to ensure every child receives the support they need to reach their own potential, one step at a time.

Strengthening our classrooms by investing in our educators. As Lotus Petal Senior Secondary School begins a new academic chapter, our Teacher Changemakers returned to school with renewed energy, ideas, and a shared commitment towards creating a positive learning environment for every child. The first Learning & Development session of this journey was conducted by Ms. Srividya Sridhar on “Building a Positive and Holistic School Culture.” The session encouraged educators to reflect on the many elements that shape a school culture, from collaboration and communication to creating spaces where students and teachers feel connected, supported, and inspired to grow. A strong school ecosystem is built every day through the collective efforts of its people. For our Teacher Changemakers, this session was an opportunity to learn, reflect, and align around the shared vision of creating meaningful experiences for children. The Changemakers of Vidya Sahyog came together for a Chai Pe Charcha, a space to connect, share experiences, and reflect on the journey of adapting to a new way of working. From transitioning from a traditional office setup to a hybrid work environment, the conversation explored the experiences, challenges, and learnings that came along the way. The team shared what has worked well, areas where support can make the transition smoother, and ideas to create a more seamless and connected work experience. Beyond work, the conversation also brought moments of connection as the Changemakers shared stories from their summer breaks and experiences outside of work. Meaningful conversations build stronger teams, creating spaces where people can share, listen, and learn from each other helps us continue to grow together. ‪@lotuspetalfoundation‬

This comes at a pivotal moment for India's social sector. A Triumph of Talent: LPSSS Secures National Glory in Tech Edge Championship

The National Tech Edge Championship 2026, held at the NAB Sarojini Trilok Nath Home for the Blind, New Delhi, stood as a remarkable celebration of intellect, innovation, and competitive excellence. The event brought together bright young minds from across institutions, providing a dynamic platform to demonstrate knowledge in emerging technological domains.

The championship witnessed vibrant participation, with 20 students representing LPSSS, culminating in an impressive gathering of around 80–90 participants. With over 15 schools competing at this national-level platform, the atmosphere was both challenging and inspiring. 5 students from LPSSS got qualified for the second round. 

In this highly competitive environment, Rishabh of Class 10th A distinguished himself with exceptional brilliance in the Quiz Competition, securing the 2nd Position.
