Before taking my first cruise, I had no idea where to start. I had very little knowledge of the industry overall, and I had no idea 'how to cruise'. One thing was clear - there were so many things that could go wrong.
As soon as I boarded my first cruise ship, I knew immediately that this was a way to see the world that I believed in, and then my YouTube channel was born.
Here at 'Fraser at Sea', I want to use my channel to help you to plan and have the best cruise possible. I share with you my cruise and travel tips, take you away with me in my vlogs, and aim to hopefully immerse you in the experiences as we go.

Personally, I’m a fan of the space that a cabin like this offers, and it feels particularly luxurious to have all of this space to myself thanks to very low solo supplements on my sailing. 👏🏼 When you look a little deeper, it’s clear that this cabin needs a bit of ‘TLC’, but the bones are good, and it’s proving incredibly comfortable so far. 😊 More on that ‘TLC’ point in another post…

I’ve arrived at Palermo Cruise Terminal, and I’m ready to board MSC Splendida, one of the cruise ships from MSC Cruises. I’ll be spending the next few nights onboard to see what this ship’s all about. 👀

Palermo, you beauty! 🤩

I’ve spent the last 24 hours in Palermo, Italy, and I completely forgot what I loved about this city. I visited here on a cruise a few years ago, and remembered it being a real ‘deep dive’ into what I’d call ‘real Italy’. In other words, the Italy that Italians actually live in, rather than the incredibly polished cities like Rome… 👀

I’ve loved getting to know this city more before boarding this cruise - I can’t believe it was cheaper for me to drive to a London airport, park there AND fly than it would have been for me to drive to and park at Southampton port for a week! 🤯

Here’s my ‘home from home’ tonight - it’s huge! 👀

I’m pretty new to the ‘Hampton by Hilton’ brand, but I’m a huge fan of what I’ve seen so far. This is my ‘Queen Runway View’ room at London’s Stansted Airport hotel, which cost me about £80 for the night on a ‘bed and breakfast’ rate! 👏🏼 ✈️

Yesterday, I spent the day in Birmingham, my local city to where I now live in England. If you’ve followed for any length of time, you’ll know that the Scottish cities really still have my heart, but I’ve grown to really enjoy Birmingham as a city over the years that I’ve lived here. 🏙️

If you’re unfamiliar, Birmingham’s the UK’s second biggest city, and it’s about a 1 hour train ride from London. The city’s about a 40 minute drive to where I live, so it’s perfect for a day of wandering around! 👀

I cruised onboard MSC Virtuosa to bring in 2023, and it was an absolutely brilliant experience. The ship was full of people who were just SO committed to having the time of their lives. 💃🏻 🕺🏻

Of course, I used it as an opportunity to dig out my favourite tartan bow tie - you’ll have seen this on quite a few ships since…! 😂 🤵
