Yelan giving the main villain of the "Tracing Vanishing Trails" event a "you deserve to rot in jail" speech is meant to be cathartic. But Yelan being verbally abusive felt out-of-place to me. I don't remember her quest indicating any sadistic tendencies. Maybe it's indicated in the game's flavour texts, which TBF I don't really read. Although her work and her theme featuring strings do give her a sense of dominance. IDK, maybe it's just me.

Spoilers for the Sunspray Summer Resort in Genshin.

Part of me feels like Bennett being from Natlan seems fanservice-y. But it's nice that he's getting positive moments in the game. Although I do like how characters aren't confined to their homelands, and we even have characters like Thoma who moved to a different nation. I also like how Mondstadt is still relevant.

Bennett embodies Mondstadt with the whole "adventuring being associated with freedom" thing. But he also perseveres though hardships like the people of Natlan.

I also noticed the game has an "archon's right-hand" characters, so someone with the same element as the archon who's also a good embodiment of their ideals. Which are Jean, Ningguang, Sara, Alhaitham, and Neuvillette respectively (although you could say Furina is the sovereign's right-hand). Mavuika lacks this. Maybe Bennett could fulfill this role, like making him related to Mavuika. Which would feel fanservice-y, although Guoba was a god who knew Zhongli. Genshin has always been a feel good "heroes triumph over the villains" game so I don't fully rule out if it goes to this direction.
