"To Switch or not to Switch?" or "Switch OLED vs. Switch 2"
With the end of 2025 fast approaching, I have a question for all you Nintendo heads out there.
My Nintendo Switch 1 is over 5 years old as of now, I may need to upgrade because who knows how long the Switch 1 is gonna last (especially mine). I’m getting a big paycheck on the day before New Year’s Eve, which will guarantee it and I plan to buy it on New Year’s Day. 😎 (How cool is that?!) But, I need to ask, is it worth it to upgrade to the Switch 2?
I heard that you can’t put used games into the Switch 2 or else Nintendo will ban you and your Nintendo account/console. What if you used said used games on the Switch 1 prior to getting the Switch 2? Would they still ban you? 💢 If so, does this mean I have to re-buy all the Switch 1 games I have just to avoid getting banned by Nintendo?! 😠 Those monsters!! 😡
I’ve been following Nintendo ever since I was introduced to video games as a child, and I never thought that they would stoop to this level. It’s like they are shaming people for being cheapskates!! Who are they to tell people how they should spend their money, let alone their lives, huh?! If they think that I’m gonna waste my time, life, and money re-buying all my Switch 1 games (brand new, never opened, of course) just so I won’t be banned by them, they are CRAZY!
I keep thinking I should just get the Switch OLED like I originally planned before Nintendo released the Switch 2. The pros are a bigger screen, bigger kickstand, better audio, what more could you ask for?! Oh, yeah, the con to that plan is I can’t access the Gamecube or Virtual Boy games, only Switch 2 users can access those. (😫 Awwww!) Also, the fear of getting banned by Nintendo also lingers on the Switch OLED, I don’t know why, but ever since I found out about Nintendo banning Switch 2 users for playing used games has got me on edge. I still can’t believe they’re doing this. 😢
